Default Rookie Question---Please Help

I'm pretty new here and really open to learning as much as I can. I have a specific question today. After keyword research I was able to purchase a domain for the exact phrase I selected...it gets around 75,000 searches per month...so obviously I want to optimize the site to get the top spot or very near it. Here's the thing...my domain registrar (Namecheap) allows for domain forwarding. My question is, can I simply forward to the CB pitch page I am promoting (essentially to my hoplink) and still get a top ranking even though the domain is forwarded?

Okay, I know it's probably a simple question. Let's just all agree that I know nothing...lol.

You can but the spiders arn't stupid and you could possible kill your ranking. What I would do is some good on-page SEO stuff for content on your domain. Pre-sell the product and then on your link to the product take them directly to the page where they pay for the item if the CB page doesn't convert well.

Regards,
Clint

Thanks, Clint. Helpful for a newbie like me, especially the part about going right to the pay page. I think I'm good there though....the product converts very well.

I skip CB vendor squeeze pages most times, simply because most are disguised email optin forms.

I make it a point to not give my traffic away for free.
