Default Which one is better organic or paid linking?

I want to boost my site’s ranking as soon as possible but I am in a dilemma, as some suggest paid links are easier to get and so can give results very fast, but then there are some who say it is always better to go for organic linking. Which one is better organic or paid linking?

Just because you paid for a link, it does not mean Google can see you paid for it.

A paid link can "look" natural and can be highly effective.

For example, you could pay someone for a blog post on the home page of an aged, PR6 topic relevant site, but how is Google to know it's paid for? It could be a guest post or the person who owns the site could have posted it with a link to your site are a referance.

A mix of both paid and manual is a good option

Short answer:

PPC: more expensive, immediate response, easily affected by competition as easy as increasing bids by your competitor, clear rules.
SEO: less expensive (ultimately), needs patience, ever-green and not easily affected by competition and to some degree sticky, unclear rules that change every day.

According to me and my experience. Paid link is also good, like submit your website in high quality paid local directory instead of other paid link like guest blog and blogroll. Local listing will helps more than blogroll links. I hope you got your ans here....

You will achieve organic links by doing white hat method of SEO. Focus on quality and not quantity if you want better results.

It is not that easy to find an answer for this question. For example, when you get in touch with a reputable SEO or marketing company, they would be using paid links to promote your website and improve its ranks. The point you are referring to applies to the situations in which, due to the high values of contents presently on your website, some other blogs or websites add links to yours in an editorial way, the impacts on your web rankings could then be very great and noticeable.

One-way links are today very important indeed and some of them are gained freely while there are commercial link building packages to use. Lots of top ranking websites can be found using both methods to keep their positions stable on search engines. In some highly competitive niches which are targeted by hundreds or even thousands of websites, it might be needed to make use of paid links, listing websites addresses on niche-specific directories to gain improved results over the net.

Hi.

I just wrote a whole lot in another tread about why getting organic backlinks used to work but only in dinosaur era. If you are talking about very very low competition keywords in very low population neighborhoods for example and long-term keywords, such as dog-sitter my under 50,000 town, then still go for great content and organic backlinks but if you are talking about high-competition keywords then probably when your grand children have grand children you get somewhere without getting good backlinks.

BTW, if you morally disapprove this, I would be extremely happy to see even one example of a high competition keyword that somebody could get some ranking with organic backlinking below 10 years or so...

Paid Links are not permanent links they are for short terms.

Organic links are permanent, natural and valued by the search engines. That's why Organic links are always best for SEO.

It is difficult to generate organic links for your website. People don't talk about you or write about you unless you are a renowned name or a brand. OR you have a strong viral campaign that can multiply your links every second.

Not true, you can buy a permanent link on a website. You can also buy blog posts with a link to your site which is permanent.

Organic links are not "always" best for SEO. Paid links are highly effective, and if done correctly are undetectable and permanent.

Organic links are not always permanent ether, for example domains expire where you had an organic link, posts are deleted, pages are deleted or a webmaster can change, remove the link. If anything, a paid link can be more permanent.

Mixture of both are best as in start you need instant traffic and you should go for paid links. Over the time keep building natural links as this takes time and once became effective, they will give you significant free traffic.

Without any doubt organic links are better for the site as it contain quality and relevancy , which more important for the better result of the site. Whereas paid links contains copied links and those are not relevant also. And this can be the matter for ranking dropped. So always manual and natural way is better with a view to get the best result.

Are you saying that you can't get paid links that are quality and relevant? - You can!

Organic links are not "better", you have no control over them.

Here is a real life example of a link that is available to BUY:

Domain age: 10 years
PR6
Topic relevant site
Link wrapped in topic relevant text
Completely undetectable paid link
Low OBL

So how is that low quality and bad for a site?

According to me it's completely depend on you. If you want to rank fast then get some paid links. But make sure to get quality links. SPAM links can hurt your site.

Even if we see, there is not much difference between paid links and organic links in terms of expense. One organic link example: Guess Blog Posting. Prefect, you are not paying for the links here. But you need to provide a post. Either you need to outsource it or write yourself. If you outsource it will cost you money. In other way you need to spend your own time. After all time is money.

So, I am 100% agree with @yukon. It depends on which one has the better ROI for your business?

Just sharing my thought..

Let's look at it this way. Two identical sites...

Natural link placed on this site:

Domain age: 10 years
PR6
Topic relevant

Paid link placed on this site:

Domain age: 10 years
PR6
Topic relevant

Google's algorithm can't detect the paid link, not even a manual review of the link by a Google employee would be able to tell it was paid for.

So how is the natural link undoubtedly better than the paid?

Also, what's the chance of you gaining a number of these high quality links naturaly?

As already mentioned, when buying links it depends on the ROI. But I don't agree with people who are saying that natural links are undoubtedly better than paid for increasing rankings.

When buying links they need to come from good, undetectable sources to work best.

Barry is right.

Unless you are buying links from a moron, there is no way for Google to tell that they are paid links. There is no receipt imprinted into the HTML code.

If it makes sense for your business, you can get fantastic results from paid links.

Daniel,

I think you are talking about search engine traffic vs. PPC traffic. That is not what the OP was asking about.

He was asking about getting "natural links" (whatever the hell those are) vs. paid links to boost search engine rankings.
