my site had PR 1 for a long time been working multiple hours every day - making even better content, more words, more interesting - making even more backlinks - slowly increasing incoming traffic and today I open my site to register various data that I record every day and I see PR 1 became PR 0 funny thing is on webmaster it was showing continuously increasing number of links like 4963 then in some days 5076 then in some days 5492, its all mostly social bookmarking, and I thought anytime I will get PR 2 and I got PR 0 instead ![]() so bummed out... I don't see any logic in it... |

dont worry google.com lost a PR too ![]() I wouldn't care too much about the PR I would focus on keyword rankings. The logic of PR these days is that google searches the sits with highest PR first but that doesn't mean it will return those first. So keep writing good content. Some of them keep on your site and some submit as guest posts and link back to your website to build links. |

You need to find good quality backlinks from high PR pages if you want a higher PR. Just adding content doesn't mean a thing in regards to PR. Neither does the amount of traffic you receive. | |

Google has been acting funny lately, I have seen my PR skyrocket on almost every site so maybe they are working on something. Although I do not see where PR has much affect on anything, traffic is probably the best thing to focus on and creating a better experience for the users.

You going about getting PR all wrong mate. Keep adding the content because naturally that will help your crawl rate and hopefully improve the value of your site to vistors. Moving onto PR tho, to get that you need a wide variety of links (this will help rankings even if they are not quality ones). Social, article, homepage contextual, directory, etc etc you know what i mean. The fact that you have 5k+ links means a lot of them are most likely crap. Get yourself some high PR low OBL links. 20 of these bad boys and you will have plenty of PR in the next update. To reiterate my point, its all about QUALITY links if you want the PR. I have a site that went from PR0 to PR4 with just 150 links. |

High PR backlinks pointing to you = An increase in your own PR. Just one PR1, PR2, PR3, etc, link is a LOT more powerful than a bunch of PR0 or NA links. |
