Default PPC Ad Campaign for Affiliate Sites

Hey everyone! I am new to the forum. So please be nice :-). I used the search function, but I was unable to find something that directly addresses this question. So, if it has been asked 1,000 times before, then I am sorry and I will practice my searching skill lol. I am currently a freelance writer, and I am interested in starting an amazon affiliate website. It will be a product review style website as that is what a lot of my writing here lately has been for. However, I was wondering if using adwords or MSN's adcenter would be an effective way of driving converting traffic to my website? Would anyone care to help a noob out? :-)

If you're a noob to ppc to a LOT of research first and set a spending CEILING which you will not go over. There's a good reason adsense gives people $100.00 in credit.

Why not use article marketing and incoming rss feeds as content since you're a writer anyway?

That will be the base of my efforts. I mean I can turn out good quality articles in almost no time. I just am interested in what options are viable. Also, work has been very good to me here lately, and I have a nice surplus that I can deploy for this project. I am leery of outsourcing any of the content creation because that just seems like such a waste given that there is no reason I cant create the content during slow periods or sanity breaks. So, really I am just considering all the options available. Trying to develop a solid plan of action before I actually start doing the legwork.

Hey if you have time for all fresh content by all means go for it. I'm a writer myself and still have to use rss feeds due to diversification.

I like 7 search for ppc and a little extra income. I've spoken to them on the phone and they won't tell me what I can place on my page like adsense does, but you'd probably get more traffic from adsence at a greater cost.

Don't forget about setting up Facebook, linkedin and twitter to post your articles announcements automatically.

I'm currently helping my boyfriend set up a system doing the exact same thing you describe. I use Microsoft Adcenter and have had success with it. I've heard good things about 7search (mentioned above) as well.

When it comes to PPC, carefully read what content that do and don't allow. Especially when it comes to Adwords... they are ban happy and especially like to target affiliates. A lot of PPC sites require that you don't try to hide the fact that you are an affiliate of the products you are reccomending, otherwise they may not want to do business with you.

With PPC, make sure you do the math. I figure out the maximum I want to spend per 100 clicks and still make a profit (I figure if I get at least one sale per 100 clicks with digital products... I believe Amazon can have a much higher conversion rate than that though).

I will PM you the WSO I bought about PPC that REALLY helped me successfully get started (I'm not affiliated with them at all, the product was really helpful).

AdWords (or PPC in general) can be very profitable if done right. Before you do anything, read the TOS and be sure you understand them. Failure to do so will eventually lead to a ban.
