how to move blog to the homepage?

for you seo experts...

i have a site.... blah.com

I have a blog on the site at blah.com/blog

i wanna move the blog so its the homepage.

someone told me to just do a 301 redirect and it solves the problem. Someone else told me thats the wrong way to do this and isn't good for SEO.

anyone know what up or how to do this the right way?

and will it F up any of my blogs backlinks and seo rankings?

Assuming your using WP

Can't you do it by going to the "Reading" section of your WP dashboard, under settings?

In the "posts page" drop down menu you should be able to select your home page, the posts will then be on the home page.
