I'm a children's and newborn photographer looking to get to the 1st page of google with my keywords. I am new to SEO and am hoping to find someone that can give me some advice and help. I'd be really grateful.

Do what Sisatel say and you will surely be in 1st Page, it just needs a lot of time and hard work

As suggestion given by Sisatel start OnPage optimization by researching a good keyword for your site and put it on your website

What country are you targeting?

Try to have content from your website hosted by an authoritative site or 'within' an authoritative site. These generally include member based content sites where the fresh daily content increases relevancy. Then private message Sisatel and ask him if that's a real picture... =)

Before you do anything do a keywork search in adwords keyword tools and make sure you can register right domain with that keyword.

then do what sistel said.
