Default Does anyone actually believe this?

I was just reading a WSO. I am doing some research on the writing of sales pages. I came across some familiar text just above the buy now button.
---------------------------------------
Well, I initially thought of charging $197 for this because this ISN'T an ordinary WSO. This WSO has all the 'hard work' done for you... all you need to do is literally copy and paste!

But then I felt that if my product was going to cost $197, many people won't be able to afford it.

Thus, I decided to lower the price. Therefore, it won't cost $197. It won't even cost you $97. No, not even $67. Charging $37 would still be expensive for some. The final price I've decided on is a mere $7!

Click the button below to place your order!
------------------------------------
I mean seriously, does anyone really believe that he was going to sell this for $197 but he is going to let me have it for $7? I think I understand the intent behing this, but it is just simply B. S. But is that what copy writing is all about?

Thank you!

It's easy to say that for any service or product and make it look like the deal of a lifetime.

"My software is so good that it is really worth $999. But since most people won't be able to afford that, I'll sell it for $99."

.........Wow! What a Deal!!

How you figure your pissing in my Cornflakes? I don't have any WSO's running with this in them. Hell, I don't have any WSO's, yet. Maybe never.

But then $7 ain't worth $7 any more. I used to be able to fill my car with gas and get change. Now I can't guy two gallons for that.

But that is not to say that I have not gotten some valuable information from a WSO or two. Maybe you know it all already. There are lots of us that don't yet.

lol yeah, it's fun to read though especially those said they are charging $197 outside and rather pay for a thread here just to sell us for $7.

I can count on one hand the number of people selling a WSO that I like and/or trust.

The WSO section has become a cesspool. It's IM'ers fault though. IM'ers keep buying the crap. Supply and demand. If people keep buying, marketers will keep repackaging the same trash and putting it out there.

If there really was a super secret system to make {$1000|$5000|$10,000|$9367} a {day|week|month|year} {with very little effort|with no effort at all|that is so easy anyone can do it}, nobody would be selling that system for less than $5000.

I'm sure some guru would argue about why they are selling it.

{They want to give something back|They really enjoy helping people|It is their way of saying thanks to the community}.

It's all BS. Most of the people selling WSO's are making little to no money outside of their WSO's.

Agreed Mike.

Who, in their right mind, would stumble on a "method" that earns them "$1,000+ a day" and make that information public? (For a mere $7!) That right there should set off an alarm in your head.

There are plenty of good WSO's. Without a doubt. But there's almost an equal amount of junky, over-hyped WSO's.

I've bought a few good WSOs before, one WSO was a plugin that was pretty cool IMO.

I've also been ripped off buying one WSO (I won't say who) & it did piss me off because it was pure junk.

A guy has to be realistic when buying WSOs, If the seller is saying the WSO is worth $197 then he needs to be charging $197 otherwise when he sells for $7, that $7 is what the seller actually believes his WSO is worth, so the comment about $197 is fluff.

If it looks like BS, it's BS!

Good post rjd.

The people who actually succeed are the people who stop chasing the latest and greatest "get rich quick" method.

Though a lot of people don't have the budget to delegate. But anyone can start small and still earn a very respectable amount each day. Over time they can grow and outsource some of the leg work.

Problem is, you can look like a guru with any old WSO.
They seem to feed each other.

There is junk and lots of it.

I am still waiting for anyone to offer me a JV worth
a dang. I get PM'd to death with junk. And I mean junk.

I don't want to be associated with any junk.

I won't touch your junk.

In reality, I can't fault the sales tactic. Dropping the price
to a mere $7 bucks may be a good sales tactic.

If the $999 dropped to $7 works as promised, is that
"promise" worth it to the buyer?

Does a $7 price mean it works only 7/999 as it should?

Paul

Price anchoring at its finest. Its the reason daily deal type sites got so popular. It works everywhere. Theres a great article on it here: Anchoring Effect « You Are Not So Smart

The researchers would hold up a bottle of wine, or a textbook, or a cordless trackball and then describe in detail how awesome it was.

Then, each student had to write down the last two digits of their social security number as if it was the price of the item. If the last two digits were 11, then the bottle of wine was priced at $11. If the two numbers were 88, the cordless trackball was $88.

After they wrote down the pretend price, they bid.

Sure enough, the anchoring effect scrambled their ability to judge the value of the items.

People with high social security numbers paid up to 346 percent more than those with low numbers.

People with numbers from 80 to 99 paid on average $26 for the trackball, while those with 00 to 19 paid around $9.
That's nuts. But at the same time, it makes sense. The car example is a good one. We don't REALLY know what the dealer paid. So they could anchor us to any price that they want. If we move down a little most of us would feel like we've won. When, in fact, the dealer has still gotten us to pay a lot more than they did.

I think that part of the problem that there are so many crappy wso's out there is that there are wso's that teach people how to make money by creating there own wso and they also claim to be newbie friendly. So what kind of wso can you expect from a newbie who has never made money online? The thing is if someone has a really good system for making money why would they sell it and risk the chance of it getting saturated.

Great point in the OP!!

I was pricing up my product and though if I sell it for $1999 then yes!! I would be rolling in it, but then thought crap no-one would buy it so opted for a more reasonable $57!!!

So much B.S. on the WSO's with 1 in a thousand probably worth the money but I guess there are a lot of gullible dreamers out there paying the money.
