Google recently changed its search ranking algorithm, how do we in the internet marketing business cope with these changes. What steps can be taken to increase a website’s ranking as per the latest Google update?

For ranking high , the same steps as before. That providing the quality content, decrease the bounce rate if high and decrease the outbound links, also increase the conversion rate and many factors need to manage for getting the higher rank. And as per the panda changed , it consider the more traffic and from the social media more and quality traffic. So for the effective result one need to increase the quality traffic of the site and specially from social sites. |

Provide useful content that users are searching for. Pretty simple, but that is what google wants you to do.

If you're talking about the fresh content update, you need to figure out if you're in an industry that requires freshness, like the news or sports. If that's the case, it's a mixed blessing. If you're willing to provide fresh content, there's an opportunity to jump to the top of the SERPS as news events are happening. If not, other people with fresh content will get in front of you. This update affects 30% of searches so it's a big deal.

I would say having long content is a must. I normally try for 800+ for an article. It takes longer, but its worth it.

@wegenbelasting - We write all our own articles, so copyright isn't a problem. You don't want to copy content from other sites, otherwise you run into duplicate content problems. Regarding article length, you should make your articles as long as they need to be. Whatever is most helpful to the readers. |
