| On my pet site I am looking for adsense suggestions as I am now getting considerable traffic but am not monitizing it well. I have read a lot on placement ideas but when I implement some of them, it makes my site look spammy and that is not a look I care for, even if it does result in a few more clicks. I've also read that the fewer ads on the page, the higher CPC you can expect because Google only displays the highest paying ads that meet the page content. The 468x60 is an ad unit that doesn't perform well. If you want to make money, you need make a decision. Go all in or just do it for love. That said, I recommend using just one 336x280 (or 300x250) unit between the Title and Content on the Single Pages. On the homepage & categories, modify your loop to display this same unit between 1st and 2nd posts. Then after one week, you may add a second 336x280 unit on single pages between the content and the comments section. During the second week, you compare the results and decide whether to keep the second unit based on earnings. Also replace the 468x60 you have at the top, with a 768x15 link unit. |
