Well I know for a site you have to create pages, and each page will contain an article, and it's kind of difficult to form a coherent question of what I'm asking. So in the purest form how do you set up all the pages/categories etc on your site? Also the internal linking? Thanks!

Assuming you're using wordpress....you can use pages as sticky permanent articles--such as for your main topic pages.... You can use posts to write..well...posts/articles. Posts get organized into categories, pages do not. I don't really know what else to say. As for internal linking, I usually manually create a list of links on each page pointing to the pages I want to link to. Also, anchor text links in the post's content as well. |

I'm in creating authority sites and i do create pages instead of posts. but if you prefer to create post instead of pages, you can make your main article sticky. internal linking, i would suggest you interlink pages and also create link to your home page / feed page which Search engines loves always. Hope this helps.... |

use the "Pages", widgets, set according to page titles and exclude pages like pirvacy, about us, contact us etc... Here is a quick tip: to exclude pages, i install show page id plugin and once i know the page id, i note down for those pages id which i don't want to include in navigation and deactivate & uninstall the plugin. hope that helps... |

Then you begin to make a few posts. Each post can be placed into the appropriate category. You can have a list of categories as a widget in the sidebar. Then every post you make from here on out you can put into the categories. You can also have a widget for most recent posts...or the posts you want people to read in the sidebar as well. The main thing to decide is if you want your homepage to be a static page...or a list of your posts. | |
