I'm about to start up some new projects with Adsense, I just wanted to find out from some of you if it's better to optimize for local keywords rather than worldwide. I know most of you will say worldwide, I just want to find out the reasons why in this case please. If I was to go for local domains and SEO, would it not be easier to perhaps rank up faster as there would be less competition, there might there be more available keywords/domains to optimize for. I might have it 100% wrong so don't muck me I'm just getting started. Cheers -Lee |

Lee, I've has some success using adsense for both geographically targeted and non geographically targeted keywords. In my mind the only difference lies in your SEO efforts. For example, if I were to create a site based on canadian geocentric keywords I would buy a .ca domain. People in Canada using google.ca get more .ca results. Other then that things are pretty equal. I mean sure, you could find a localized keyword that gets 1000k searches a month with easy competition. But you could also just as easily find a non-localized keyword with the same search volume and level of competition. So to answer your question: Its not easier either way, but the way you approach each option is different. |
