Default My site just got PR4. Should I sell it or keep it?

First, I don't know why my site got PR4. This is really strange. All I do is some submission using SENuke X. Anyway, it show that I got only 1 backlink from identi.ca.
OK, the main question is should I sell it or keep it? I've seen some PR 4 site can sell at thousands dollars. I don't know that I should redesign this site or sell it because it don't make any money for me at all (I was suck when building this site) .
Any opinions?
If I sell it, how much should I sell?
Thanks.

Just because the site has PR it does not mean it's worth a lot of money.

You could have a PR4 sites that's not ranking well and is making no money. It's not that valuable just becuase it has PR4.

How much money is the site making, that's where the true value is.

Actually, if the backlink profile is good, it does have value as a PR 4. It isn't necessarily going to sell on Flippa, but people that use these kind of domains in a personal network will gladly pay for it.

If the site is not currently making any money or ranking for anything significant, you are not going to get thousands for it. If it had more than one high PR link, you might get $100 for it, but since it only has one high PR link and a bunch of PR n/a links from SEnuke X, I doubt there is much of a market for this domain.

Pr4 is a useful tool for selling, but income and traffic will likely be more important. I wouldn't sell just because you have the PR4 unless you are simply ready to move on from the project, in which case the PR4 should add a few bucks to what you could sell it for.

I didn't say it was not worth "any" money, I said it does not mean it's worth "a lot" of money.

He is under the impression because it's a PR4, it will be worth thousands.

Ok, I understand. I should make profit with this site better than sell it. Anyway, the site has no conversion at all. It have about 3000 unique visitors. I want to delete all post and design it from scratch. Is this all right?

Hi mate,

If you have the site with Pr 4 , that is not bad. But if you want people to buy the website , it is really time taken or some times (rarely ) will be sold instantly.
Because people will see how the domain is and how the links are been built upto now, if they want to buy the domain for high price.
According to my opinion, why cant you built your website with some content and get some links. So that you can earn good income from this domain.

Thanks

Having a PR4 can be really good, >>make sure you either maintain or increase it though << making too many low quality links could risk you losing some PR eventually.

Like said though, its more value down to traffic, rankings, and earnings that the site makes which is going to make it worth selling. If you are getting traffic then use it for ads, sell ad space on your site. otherwise homepage links will be of great value and you can get up to 50$ per link for that if its a blog with a blogroll for example then this could be a way of monetizing! - otherwise keep generating traffic and increasing the rank it will be worth it. if you get up to PR6ish then it will have a lot more value!

3k visitors a month? If so, that's not too bad. How about monetizing it with adsense? If you wanna sell it, adsense sites are hot in flippa.

Yes it's alright. That is if you redirect the visitors somewhere. The PR shouldn't be impacted on the main page, but if you have a lot of content this could be a disaster.

How many pages would you be deleting?

For me instead of deleting them, better revise or leave them alone and just create new quality content...

You can sell it if it can't earn money from you. But don't expect it to be that expensive..Perhaps you can still work for it to make it a good one for you to gain from it in the long run.

I would 301 them all to the home page. That way they'll retain whatever links they have and the visitors. There's no reason to squander 100 daily visitors for a redesign.

With a redesign and good content you could probably capitalize pretty well. Google at least likes something about the site

It sounds like it is worth keeping, a PR4 bought just for its PR and backlink structure will not make you much money. You should try to look at how you can monetise this site better. If a redesign is really needed then do it although I would only do this as a last option.

Also, if you were going to re-write pages with similar content/keyword focus and targeting the same traffic then you should spend the time 301ing each specific page to a related page. If people were finding these pages before then best to keep them on it with more conversion optimisation so you can make money.

If i was you I would hold onto it and keep building it up. Once it starts making some money it will be 10 times more valuable.

Depends on the niche, revenue, and the design. All of this has a hand in the value of a website!

it is better that you use the Page rank to build your site and monetize it. You can also use it to build backlinks to other sites of yours. You can even sell backlinks to others. PR sells.

In my on opinion the major reason why you are not converting most of your visitors maybe due to the type of products or services your promoting is not converting well, or I do you get as much as 3000 visitors a day and you are not making DIME of your visitors.

I therefore advice you keep it find something interesting to promote within and I am sure you 'll start making profits.
