Hey My purpose for this post is to show how I get great quality articles for my websites or for any purpose and how you can too. First off, I want you to know that I have personally written TONS of articles (over 4.5k with all my accounts on Ezine Articles). Here is one of my profiles. http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Omar_Negron So when it comes to articles and finding writers Ive picked up on a few things and I would like to share them with you. Ive seen a lot of sites that give you access to get a Personal VA for writing content as you may need it but there are usually membership fees included, which is something that I like to avoid whenever I can. Yes, I have tried places like Elance and Scriptlance. Ive had some success with both of those sites but again, those sites also do charge fees when you pick writers. I think that the best way to find people to write content for you comes down to one place for CRAIGSLIST! But not craigslist in the USA though I am talking about Craigslist in the Philippines! The reason I like to find professional writers there is because there English is very good, you will find professional people, and you will get great value for your money. Now I cant say exactly how much you will be paying per article. That all depends on what you work out with your potential writer. But I can almost assure you that you will be getting a better deal than a lot of other places out there. So here is what you do. I have noticed that the most popular place to post in the Philippines is in the city of Manila (seems to have the most action, posts and responders). But you should also go across the board and post down the list of cities as well. Then click JOBS then go over to POST. Then scroll down the bottom where it says writing/editing jobs. MAKE SURE YOU VARY YOUR JOB POSTING FOR EACH OF YOUR ADS IN DIFFERENT CITIES OR CRAIGLIST WILL NOT ACCEPT THEM. You can post something simple like this. "Hey. I am looking for a professional content writer for my website. I have websites on many different topics and I need someone who is reliable to form a partnership with and help me expand my websites with some unique and wonderful content. If you have experience as a writer I would love to hear from you. Please respond to this post and I will contact you ASAP." Thats pretty much it. Then where it says Compensation just put To Be Discussed Now I KNOW that this may not sound like anything revolutionary, because its not. It is something I have been using to find VERY GOOD writers for my websites that speak VERY GOOD English, have a background in writing (many have college degrees), and avoid paying those membership fees or transaction fees for those other websites. Also I almost forgot to mention they will usually want to be paid either of these 2 ways. 1) Paypal 2) Xoom Most of the writers that I have dealt with like to be paid on a 2 week basis, but again this will all depend on what deal you work out with your potential writer. Once you post up the ad, keep an eye on your email and you should begin getting hungry writers contacting you. ![]() Hope you found this info useful! ![]() -Omar |

Why not Odesk or GetAFreelancer? These sites are also full of people from the Phillipines / India / Bangladesh.

Hey. Yeah I've heard of those before. Not sure if they charge fees though based on who you pick and not to sure of the quality as well. I just wanted to share a way I have been able to get quality writers using craigslist which totally avoids fees and is a goldmine in my opinion. Thanks for the input though! -Omar |

Yeah its like 10% fee that they charge, and quality hard to say, I used for linkbuilding till I find out they didn't do it manually but just on automatic, so I quit the cooperation. Kinda useless as I can do it automatic myself as well. My personal feeling is that at Odesk people specifically sign up for tasks, while at Craiglist anyone with a computer and internet can apply so less chance of quality work. BUT I never tried craigslist so I could be very wrong. If you never used Odesk I would recommend to take a look, you can pick your people and watch there ratings / reviews from other customers. However same like Fiverr, ratings are not always 100% reliable as many people pay so cheap that they feel bad for giving a bad rating (thinking like: ooh the poor ****ers have it so tough already, I don't want to take there food from the table) I'm one of those giving positive review despite bad work, feel bad for them you know. |

I know what you mean about thinking that way about craigslist, because I thought the same thing. But after I put up my first post, I saw many people with similar postings looking around in that market, which told me that there was potential with this strategy. I've done fivver too. lol I'm the same way as you. I give a positive review and don't like to hurt their reputation as long as they did forfill their end of the deal. -Omar

I got brought in to the internet marketing world by Omar and I've been at it only for a few months but a few weeks ago I made the smart decision to begin outsourcing my content. I checked places with freelance writers, mostly Textbroker. I'd be looking to pay $5-$10 for a "good" 500 word article. 10 articles and I'm looking at $50-$100 which for me is a lot. I took Omar's advice and I really didn't expect to find anything, but I did what he said, and within an hour, I had about 10-15 e-mails from writers with their samples. Yeah, there's going to be a few that are poor quality but you just need to sort out the writers. After looking at about 30 different samples from writers I narrowed it down to 5 and each gave them a few topics to write on so I could pick the final one. My writer is for my main site which is about fashion. She has a BA from the University of Manila in Journalism and her concentration was Fashion Journalism. ![]() I pay $3 for every 500 words but she writes up to 600 sometimes as well. Can't really beat that. An order of 20 articles I pay just $60 while at places like Textbroker I'm looking $200. |

I'm sure their technical english skills are great but how do they go with engaging a US audience where the writing style is more conversational than technical?

| I tell my writer to not write in first person as that's more suited for a blog and not what I'm looking for in my website, which is informational. That's as far as the difference I see between writing styles. I did have some writers submit work in a "conversational" style which was good as any US writer...it's just not what I wanted.

Exactly! It will all depend on their writing styles and what you are exactly looking for. Some cases may be different than others. -Omar Quote:

however understand finding native english speakers is practically impossible. Writers here are very limited unless they are highly educated, in their ability to write correct syntax and sentence structure english . Thats just the way it is Expect to go through 20 to find 1 good one also run their writing through copyscape, lots of cheaters, cut and pasters "oh sir you didnt tell me I could not do that" Umm I hired a WRITER not a copy paster Understand one thing about filipinos and English Many are good english speakers but usually only high level college grads, and many times not even that English is not spoken in the Philippines person to person, in other words, filipinos for the most part never speak English to each other. They consider people doing this "arrogant" or showoffs" . Now if the family is very educated and well off? They speak english to each other, but this is not that common. So in order to learn english you need to use it all the time, and IMO the English level here is pretty damn good considering they dont practice it much. In my house the only time people speak english is my wife or anyone speaking to me. to each other? never That is why, even though english is widely spoken and understood here. Its not on the level required for writing websites, generally. It takes a bit of digging and screening to find a good writer. So I guess what I am trying to say is, yes Philippines is considered an "english speaking" country. But they dont use it often enough to become proficient to the level of good writers, as a general rule. So dont expect to hire a writer here and they crank out great English. Its very common for them to make grammatical mistakes that would be very unusual to see native english speakers make. Just be aware it takes a while to find a good writer. But then again If you try to hire a good writer in the USA, its difficult too. So many people in the USA have such pathetic writing skills and THEY ARE NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS, LOL so I guess it takes awhile to find a good writer anywhere

For me, it's worth to hire Filipinos to give you high quality and unique content for your websites. Philippines is one of the top English-speaking countries today, and no doubt that their English skills are from decent to even fluent if possible. Due to their economy, they accept cheaper rates than the other countries.

It may take a few writers to go through before you find a good one, but when you do then you can build a relationship from there. After going through a few writers, you will be surprised at the great quality of work that they can come up with. I am very happy with the individuals I have found. -Omar

Maybe split the work 50/50. You write 50% of the content and have your writer do the other 50%. The great thing with that is you have the time freedom to do other things. That's a big reason why many people hire writers as well! -Omar

Yep you hit the nail right on the head. We can get a better value and also pay them well, which is great. I rarely get any content that sounds "bad" and even if it does, you can talk to your writer and make sure they try better the next time. Building relationships with them and helping throughout the process is key. -Omar
