the most important improvement is: "Google Analytics Real-Time Real-Time reporting shows you what’s happening on your site - right now! The reports are updated continuously and each pageview is reported seconds after it occurs on your site. You’ll find Real-Time reports in the ‘Home’ tab" |

Yes indeed, couple of good features have been introduced. However, the interface is not as user friendly as the earlier one.

Yes, I love the new analytics as it's much faster. I have been checking the awesome new real time traffic feature which is indeed deadly. It's still in beta phase right now so sometimes the traffic and stats shown are not real

A friend of mine was in on the beta and said the new analytics are great but addictive. Easy to get distracted and watch your stats live ![]() I am also wondering how soon though. No change on my home/dashboard yet. |

Yes, many more customization options in the new version, but I agree with WliteIM, the interface is a pain in the butt to learn, but once you do it's fine. The old version was alot easier to pick up. I am also really excited about Multi-Channel Funnels, that will potentially allow us to see where we should focus the most to bring in the most money. Real-time stats are cool, but hardly useful... unless you work for the CIA and your hearts gets pumping because you can spy on people |

I still prefer get clicky's stats to the new real time data from google. The dashboard feature is handy for a quick overview but still a bit lacking. Much better than the old interface though!

Live analytical updates are great for sites with high traffic volumes. We have been using Woopra previously for this.

I always always always prefer csv downloads, whether from Google or from other ad networks or from CPA companies or from ... or from ... If I can get a row in Excel for every single click or view, then I can manipulate this to my heart's content and get the information that I need. Maybe I am lucky in that I am an ex-programmer with some experience of model-building in Excel, so I can do this easily. But no interface is ever going to give me the flexibility that my own analysis can provide unless I can't get the raw data that sits behind the interface. And is realtime really that important? What am I going to do differently if I know something now rather than in a few hours? Maybe if I am throwing thousands of dollars at PPC this can help me stop a loss-making campaign earlier. But apart from that, what's a few hours? |

The new Google Analytics has already been activated in my account. The real-time reporting is fantastic. You can see how many active visitors are on site in real time.

I've managed to access the new Google Analytics interface through my account. I love the real time stats and agree with braincandy7 - they are highly addictive. However, I think I prefer the standard reporting in the old Google Analytics layout. It just seemed a bit more intuitive to me. I also have a few questions that hopefully some Warriors can help me with: 1) Anyone know how to access the Adsense stats by hour? The old interface allowed this but I can't find it anywhere in the new interface. 2) Anyone know when the social engagement stats will be updated? Mine is currently showing 0 but according to Shareaholic I have had Facebook likes in the last few days. Google says they include these as part of social engagement. 3) Anyone know how the site speed is calculated? According to Google Analytics I have an average page load time of 29 seconds based on a sample of 15 pages. Not only is this sample nowhere near large enough but I still don't understand where they have got the 29 seconds from. I ran the pages they had based their 29 seconds on through Pingdom's page load time checker and they all came back around 3.2 seconds. Even when I click pages on my website and count the load time myself, the longest I get is 5 seconds. Thanks in advance, Tom |

Some of my page load speeds are slow but these are all video pages so makes sense. Check to see if you have a javascript load still loading after the site is usable. The Firebug Page Speed add-on may shed some light on your problem.

I signed up for a new analytics account a couple of weeks back for someone elses site I was working on, all this stuff was already in there, not sure if that was because it was a new account, some of it was listed as "Beta". The analysis is AMAZING, the real time data is fun to watch... stats junkies are going to struggle to earn a living once they get their paws on this! |

Always looking to push the boundaries, Google have released the latest version of Google Analytics and opened it up to a select few analytics accounts for beta testing. ( If you have not already been invited you can sign up to request early access via this link – Google Analytics beta ) Google say the new release will make it easier to find information and share data but also claim the release new will offer some new core functionality. Having had a look around the new interface I would say they have delivered on both fronts. A few of the highlights are explained below although we may create a more comprehensive walkthrough of the new interface at a later date.

And Im sure there are other things floating around that I have missed but the point is this kind of business intelligence has a value of its own that far surpasses any short term income they may get from paid stats. Google want to own the internet, nothing less than total online domination where anyone wanting to trade online in any sector has to pay a "google tax" for their traffic / future existence. Analytics is but a single strut in their wider plan.

I am sure there will be a free variant of any services google offers but if you want to use everything to its full potential you´ll have to pay in the future.

Google recently implemented real-time analytics beta, which means if you go to your dashboard you will see a link to real-time analytics that shows how many users you have on your site this second, which pages they are reading, where are they from, keywords, referrals and even page views per minute and second, which is just simple amazing.

The videos are a good shout. Most of my site's pages do not have videos but the one's Google seem to have chosen for their sample are the ones. I tried Firebug and I'm getting a score of 85/100. The only red point is something to do with my caching but that is handled by a Wordpress plugin and I'm no developer so wouldn't know how to speed this up. I think it's probably best till Google gets a sample of my entire site and see what their page speed comes back with then. Cheers, Tom
