Howdy Lets say that my niche is on Cats And i've found that cats is my #1 converting keyword. Cats.net is for sale for $870. And the domain is 8 years old. But, the domain also hasn't had any real content on it. Do you think its a smart move to buy it? I realize it depends on how valuable the term is to me and stuff... but i'd happily pay 870 to have a site that doesnt' dance around and ranks pretty well. (I've found aged domains to rank much easier) |

Make sure the domain was indexed for 8 years, not just registered for 8 years. There's a big difference.

If you put some real content on and get indexed the value of the site will shoot up. ( If its not already indexed) I say go for it.

| Advanced Warrior War Room Member | It is not a big amount really. If it's a good domain, 2 words or 1 then it's good value. Especially if this is a buying keyword as OP says.

What about .co, .me, etc? Are those any good? Which is best? |

I would stay away from all the .co and .me kind of domain names, in my opinion they are junk. The way I like to explain this to people is by asking them "have you ever seen these kind of domain extensions ranking high on the SERPS?" just do a search on any topic for yourself to verify it. I would only recommend .com, .net or .org (and .info just because they are so cheap, although they can be tough to rank depending on the niche). Just my opinion though. Cheers, Jason |

It depends on how much search volume there is for the keyword. How much search volume does it show in Google Keyword Tool? Or more specifically, how profitable is this term for you? If it's over 40,000 searches/mo I would say definitely do it. |

that's an awesome price, i would scoop it up in a heartbeat if it was my niche. if you can afford it do it now, before someone on this forum buys it.

Depends on lots of things... See if it has ever been dropped. See how long it has been indexed. Decide if that $870 is something that you can really afford and if it will really be a part of what you going on immediately. That is a decent investment. What kind of search volume does it have? How many backlinks? any PR? How to find EMDs in my signature. |

hey i wanted to ask all of u a question related to wordpress even though i dont use wordpress one of my friends asked me this question and i know u guys have been making sites on wordpress with a lot of ease.the question is i have a question i wanted to ask u.THERE ARE 2 TITLES MEANS ONE WE PUT IN THE ALL IN ONE SEO PLUGIN WHERE THERE ARE 3 TAGS 1)TITLE TAG 2)DESCRIPTION TAG 3)KEYWORD TAG THE OTHER TITLE IS WHEN WE CREATE A POST FIRST THING WE HAVE TO ENTER IS POST TITLE.I WANTED TO KNOW WHICH TITLE SEARCH ENGINE GOES FOR IS THE TITLE WE PUT IN ALL IN ONE SEO PLUGIN OR THE TITLE WE PUT WHEN WE CREATE A BLOG POST. ..IS IT THE ALL IN ONE SEO PLUGIN THE TITLE WE PUT SHOWS ON TOP OF THE BROWSER OR THE POST TITLE WHICH SHOWS ON THE TOP OF THE PAGE which title really matters .I HOPE U GOT MY QUESTION NOW. correct me if i m wrong the title we put in all in one seo really matters and the title we put where enter the title here above the white canvas is for our convinience to differentiate which post is which. as some platforms dont provide the facility like wordpress in wordpress first we need to enter is the title and then the white canvas starts.there are many platforms which start straight with the white canvas where we have to make the title of the article using h1 tag.i have been stuck on this and my friend has really confused me |

Like Karson say's, there are alot of things to look at. Check the domain on the way back machine. Is it ranking well now? Is it not ranking because they have gotten delisted for doing something stupid? If so your going to deal with the dance as you try and get credibility back and it will cost you plenty in the long run... chyanitseospecialist - you need to familiarize yourself with the term "thread hijacking" google it if you have to - then ask your question in a new thread... |
