Hi, I have got a question about SEO and language. I have got a french website, with french content, and I need it to rank high for a keyword (not in french). E.g. GTA San Andreas game or Call of Duty Black-Ops These are english words, but also used in french. I am currently #1 for one keyword of that type in Google.fr, but I am nowhere to be found on Google.com Does language affect my rankings on Google.com? Does google.com give priority to english sites? |

The majority of the people using Google.com will be looking for US based results in English. Google.com should redirect to the local version if you visit the site from another Country. Google.com will favour US or global english results over a site in a foreign language unless they think the searcher is after a non-english result. Why are you worried about getting a Google.com ranking when the traffic you are after should be using Google.fr ?? |
