Hi I would like to ask how often Search Engines check for new backlinks. I ask because I 've done many posts to forums and blogs but when I check my site's backlinks I don't see them count. Can you please explain me why? Thanks in advance |

It's probably because your backlinks are minimal value to the Search Engines. Don't waste your $$$ on the wrong kind of backlinks - They won't work. Since the Google "Panda" update a lot has changed. Google has moved the playing field and simple text links are almost counter productive, Pyramid linkbuilding is no longer worth the effort but Contextual Links will get you an almost immediate SERPS improvement. Tens of thousands of both can be done in 24hrs using Scrapebox, and because of that Google is now giving simple text links less weight in SERPS. If you watch the latest video by Matt Cutts, Google's own guru, you will learn that contextual backlinks now have the most value. Contextual backlinks are links placed inside an article or blog post that are in the context of their surrounding text, so they look natural. For example an article on firefighting might have links to a firestation URL. These are quite time consuming to create and invariably need an image to get maximum Google juice. For anyone planning to create backlinks I recommend you to take 3 minutes to watch the Matt Cutts video on Automatic SEO Software System | Contextual Backlinks If you recognise the change he speaks about. then afterwards use their FREE software to create some contextual articles embedded with your own URL. |

Sometimes it takes a little longer to index all backlinks (reference sites). Just wait for some more time. Had you checked those in Yahoo site explorer also?

The strange is that I search my competitor's backlinks (with SEO SpyGlass) and saw that we have posted in the same forums with exactly same signature and only with different post time. I can see my competitor's backlinks but not mine. BTW the backlinks (signature) from this forum I know that count in Search Engines, can anyone tell me when and how I can check these backlinks from this forum. And finally because I am newbie to all of these can somebody show me the correct code for making signature, maybe I wrote the code wrong .Thank you very much

there a lots of backlink checking tools, what i find though is they really dont get all of them, and only a selection. If you are creating backlinks in different areas just search with the url in "quotes" in google. if it shows up then that means its indexed and giving you juice - if it doesnt and its been over 10days since you created the link, then you should try building more links to that link - so long as its indexed then its counting for you - i have 1000s of backlinks to my sites but even checking on some popular tools it doesnt list all of them some tools list only about 200, doesnt meant only 200 are counting though - also you will find that backlink checking tools only update the lists every 2 weeks or so, so its not worth checking everyday!

@ Spyroskoun If your links don't show up in Yahoo! Site explorer it doesn't mean they don't count. You need to know that it means that the Yahoo Crawler didn't crawl your website, but it doesn't mean that Google didn't. If your links are indexed, you can check this by type the website where your link is on in Google, and you find that page, then your link is INDEXED and RECOGNIZED by Google and thus COUNT. Also, Forum links are hard to find for Google, especially when the page rank of the overall forum is low... I advise you to PING your links... if you send me an PM or something with your links I will ping them for you, as if you are a newbie and maybe don't know how it works.. |

Checking backlinks in Yahoo Siteexplorer is not a good move. The short Yahoo blog post reads: With the completion of algorithmic transition to Bing, Yahoo! Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools. Webmasters should now be using the Bing Webmaster Tools to ensure that their websites continue to get high quality organic search traffic from Bing and Yahoo!. Site Explorer services will not be available from November 21, 2011. |

Have you provide the meaningful content in your forum post or blog comments. As just content is the thing by attracting which people like to click on the backlinks. And from sometime i get so much results from the blog commenting. And for getting the result through forum be live in the discussion of the topic and provide the useful information and not leave the topic as just posted once in it.

From all of that I understand that I have to wait 1-3 weeks to see my backlinks when Google find them naturally or I can ping my backlink and see it the same day. All right with this but all the backlinks that I created a month ago how can I find them.I don't remember where are all of these backlinks are to ping them. |

If you use AutoSEOSystem to create the backlinks, it has an auto reporting function that checks if they are indexed & whether Google caches them

poor value links are not easily considered by search engines. so, it is better to create back links some quality pages having PR.

I also use SEO Spyglass, it's a great piece of software for not only checking the progress of your own backlinks but analysing those of your competition.
