SLUGS and SEO

hey i use wordpress and i just finished getting this slug plugin, it basically removes stop words etc.

heres the thing, because it removes certain words, it most of the time changes the words in the slug and therefore i potentially dont have my keyword in my url.

is this a problem?

i am using a seo plugin which tells me, keyword not in url...

it also brings to my attention the length of the slugs... anyhow, i wanted to know how important it was to have your keyword in your slug
