I never used to keep track of my backlinks, but since recently learning that it's wise to keep track of them all I'm wondering how I can go about finding them?

Yep, Open site explorer is what I use as well. There's also Majestic SEO.

Sorry the tools above will find some of them but even close to all of them. You can get a general picture of new and deleted backlinks but only Google knows what is really indexed. Focus more on ranking.

| There are so many tools using which you can know about the backlinks. As by manually also you can get the detail of the site from where you get the backlinks. Write Link:yoursitename so this will generate the report of the sites from where you have get the backlinks. And through the google analytics also you can know that how many backlinks from where you have get and how much it has been beneficial for you and all the details.

Why keep track of existing backlinks? You should be focusing more on keeping track of your next backlinks ![]() But seriously, if you are keeping track of your back links do it in a spreadsheet or something, simply looking them up in Yahoo or some sort of site explorer will never produce the results of all your backlinks. - Some will not be indexed but still give juice, and others will be withheld from public viewing by the search engines. I give my clients reports in a spreadsheet with each backlink, its URL, date of creation, and some other miscellaneous info based on the method of creation. If you are doing your own SEO I strongly recommend taking the same approach for yourself. Break it all down into a spreadsheet so that you can use it at a later date for a second tier link building run, this can literally cut your work in half and ensure every link you create carries weight and doesn't just sink into neverland. I'd go for seo spyglass and backlinkwatch. I use them most of the time and I am satisfied with the information that they provide.

since Yahoo Site Explorer is dead, go with replacements: free blekko (search engine) for a quick link check and free seo spyglass (desktop tool) for a link check and link analysis, or use paid version of seo spyglass for a more or less big picture on backlinks and majestic for most complete backlink collection and analysis @ £ 250.00 per month - yep quality backlink data is far from free so if you need value for the price tool, go with SEO SpyGlass: X-Ray your competition |
