In google analytics we see there is column which shows bounce rate and % exit. I want to know the difference between them.

I very rarely use analytics so I may be wrong in this instance....
Exit implies some activity and is showing the page left the site from. That is not necessarily a "bad page" as it could:
On an e-commerce site you would see your order confirmation ("thanks for ordering, your product will be delivered in 2 days....") page would show as being an "exit page" in your stats. Hope that helps a little... |

I think that bounce rates also means that a single page has been viewed, so it may not be bad for some sites, depending on the form. For example, if I do a research on Google about how to make takiyoki, I will click on a link and might get exactly what I wanted. No need to go further on the website. I personally think this is extremely hard to deal with. Yesterday my bouncing rate was at 54%, yet I received messages telling me that the website was great ... I wish people would post more comments, especially negative ones lol >< |
