I know a lot of people use SEO Spyglass to analyse the backlinks for whatever purpose and I noticed something a while ago and thought I would share it. As part of my old process I would check for links then check the backlink factors. I would then remove all the links that were missing and analyse what was left. Then I started to check some of the missing links one day and found that some links said to be missing were actually live links!! The main ones I found were pdf links that were not recognised by Spyglass so make sure you check them. Now I filter by PR and then make sure I check some of the high PR links that are supposed to be missing, as missing these from your analysis could have a bigger impact on results. I assume most people don't know about this as have picked up some really strong PR5's (with like 2-3 PR7 links and a bunch of PR6 links that were "missing" but were live links) for really good prices. If you already knew then Kudos to you if not then this can be the thing you learned today |
