When you do a website page and you want that page to rank for 5 long tail keywords. - Do you write an article using one of the best keywords and than you backlink that page for all of them? Or you create an article using all the 5 words? Just asking this because using 5 long tail keywords in an article is pretty hard. I'm wondering how you guys do it. Thanks, JBarros |

Hi Jbarros, What I would advice is do 5 different articles for each keyword you have but have related keywords too in the articles. I do 1 main keyword in an article/post with 4 lsi's(related keywords), then I do another article/post the same way etc etc till all 5 keywords have articles/posts.. Then I interlink the keywords with each other.. When you do off-page you can link to all 5 pages from different sources giving you great backlinks.. Hope this helps.. |

You could maintain an average 4% keyword density on your articles.

Keyword density is becoming less important in Google's eyes. The are more than ever looking at content. 1% density could be more than enough if the content is of high quality and engaging.

I usually go for 2-3% density in an article for the main keyword, but also sprinkle some LSI in there as well..

I usually go for articles between 2.5 and 4% density. I've tested with 5% and noticed when I dropped it down to around 3% my articles started climbing in the rankings. There are wordpress plugins that do this for you which make it super easy. You just set it up once and interlinking happens as you write posts. I think it's a great time saver. |

You could also try doing away with percentages. I've been writing articles that rank successfully with keywords mentioned in the: title, first paragraph, subtitle (maybe), and final paragraph.

I have one client who wishes me to use his keyword or phrase only 3 times in a 500 word article regardless. I have others who request a main keyword and then want from 4 to 12 other words included in a 500 word piece. I am not sure about their effectiveness but here are the general guidelines I give when asked for advice about keyword density. 1. A single article is best built around 1 keyword or phrase. 2. It should be in the title if at all possible 3. The keyword or phrase should be able to put into a sentence that makes sense. (Ford Car Blue is an example that makes writing a good article very difficult) 4. Keywords and phrases should be used with between 1.5% and 4% density. 5. It is always better to write additional articles instead of stuffing a large number of keywords into a single article. Hope this helps. David |

It is important that you write your article with the reader in mind, not just the search engines. Concentrating too much on exact keyword densities is inclined to make you lose focus on exactly what the purpose of the article is - to educate/inform/convert your reader. Make sure the keyword phrase is in there, but don't get too hung up on percentages.

One keyword per article. 3-5% should be the right density. Write articles for people not for search engines and you'll be good. |

@Val Wilson , I totally agree with you. In my opinion if the percentage of the main keyword is in between 1-6% , its ok. But again , Just try to deliver the best , don't care about the density and at the end , you will come up with a productive and great article. |

I don't believe keyword density really has as big of an importance these days on rankings as it used to have. More importantly are backlinks to the page containing the target keyword as the anchor of the link. Even if a keyword appears once in an article, but you focus some effort on building backlinks to the page using that keyword as the anchor, eventually you should start to see it rank. |

Hello JBarros, If its about KD I prefer 2% for any particular keyword and if you are talking about How many Long Tail Keywords we can use per article so if the keywords are related to each other then you can use 5-6 keywords for an Article of min 400-500 words ( word count is imp else it will be just keywords nothing else to read ) A professional writer know How to include keywords in article naturally. Keeping KD over 3-4% is inviting trouble. Google sometimes sandbox sites for keyword spamming. It happened with some of my clients and they got the reason as well via Webmaster's Msg. To Optimize your article Try Using Keyword Once with H1 Tag, Bold It Once in start and once at the end or middle. for other keywords use bold or Italic. Use B & I randomly .. |

Keyword densisty is ideal at around 3-5% but I have seen that up to 15% is acceptable. However I would think perhaps giving article writing with a backlink ago and see how it performs

Forget percentages! Keyword once in each of the following works without looking like keyword stuffing.

I wrote an 1800 word article with a couple pictures the other day, and it shot my site from page 2 to page 1. No affiliate links or anything on it, so I think it boosted the quality factor of my site. I can't be sure though, maybe it was coincidental. I had three contextual exact-match-anchor links pointing directly to my domain. One of the links was h1 format. So you guys can give this a try too, and see if it will give your site a quality boost. |

Ya kw density was popular 5 yrs ago, 10 yrs ago, but now they are way past that now if you do 10 percent kw density, (ridiculous ) they will flag your site I would shoot for 1.5 percent at most, 3 to 5 percent why? its not an important ranking factor so are you trying to boost your site by boosting your percentage? thats not a good idea |
