Default Happy Thanksgiving to Me

This morning I woke up and checked the position of a website I've been putting all of my efforts into for the last two weeks.

The site is about 3 months old, and the keyword I'm targeting on the home page gets almost 150,000 searches a month. Before I started I was on page 8.

For most of the last two weeks I moved quickly to position 27. Today, I woke up to find myself at 13! Not where I want to be, of course, but the progress is amazing and faster than any progress I've made on any other site with FAR less monthly searches.

I did it by posting 10 posts a day on blog networks. I'm actually trying to avoid the temptation to make too many posts per day, for fear of a penalty. Slow an consistent is my strategy. Also, I just finished the posts linking to my home page and will now focus on 7 to ten internal pages. They total another 100k searches a month!

I believe blog posts carry far more weight than blog comments and that strategy is responsible for the quick jump in the rankings.

I made the decision to go this route based on someone's advice here, and so I thank him for that. I have 3 sites I want to build and I plan to go this route with a FEW quality, well paying sites. Never been a fan of 100+ EDM sites.
