Default Are link wheels no longer a good deal?

Hi my impression is that google and the other majors have caught on. Is the link wheel concept a concept of the past? Any thoughts?

It's not completely a thing of the past. It's true that they don't have the power that they once did, but you can still get use out of them if you are creative. Plus, they still work well for getting things indexed.

When you say "impression," does that mean what you heard or based on an experiment you did?

Curious as to what prompted you to bring this up.

Slf- What I heard. I didn't try it myself. Someone I work with suggested it, though.

Isn't the link wheel a sort of "shortcut" to the top of search engine rankings?

Though, linkwheels have greatly deteriorated in terms of baclinking power, it is still an impressive form of SEO strategy. A backlink will always ve a backlink.

If i am not mistaken, you need like 5 link wheels to get the benefit.

If you want to create link wheel from forum signature. You need to register for 30 more forums. Each wheel contains 6 forums.

Would you do that ?

I'd ditch the link wheels. Google is smarter and devalued them.

Shortcuts usually mean short-term. I say, do it, BUT keep adding DIVERSE back links. That is the only way I can see long-term results in staying in the top 3.

Closed link wheels are easily detectable, however open-ended one's aren't, also building a link push is more powerful imo

Yes... link wheels are still very effective using web 2.0 properties . I still use them and have found that they do wonders for my campaigns.Google likes them. Some white-hat purist beg to differ, but I disagree.
