Hi ![]() Please could I ask your advice again? After a brief discussion that I had with Sal64, I realised this morning that I actually don't know what I am doing. I have been using Google External Keywords Tool to research certain keywords but I am getting it wrong. ![]() I am not looking at from an SEO perspective but identifying the correct keywords for a particular niche. Could anyone please point me in the direction of some solid training material in terms of keyword research? Thank you. Di |

I can highly recommend Shane Melaugh's Keyword Research guides. They are free (apart from the price of an opt-in, but well worth being on his list). Keyword Research Guide | IM Impact |

how do you know you are failing? are you using any paid tools to analyze google top 10? if not , you are handicapping yourself going after kws that could be brutally competitive |

Thanks Peter. Going to take a look now. Outwest, no I am not. What paid tools are you talking about? Di [Edit] The reason I know I am failing is that I am not appearing on the search engines when I do a generic search on the keywords. If I am, it's probably on page 999,999 ![]() Secondly I don't understand how to determine the competitiveness of a keyword accurately. |

I would say go to youtube , watch videos on "analyze Google top 10 competition" here is one for you I watched vids like this for 2-3 hours until I felt comfortable If you dont learn to do this, you are at an extreme disadvantage and wont know how serious your competition is and you will waste months chasing kws that are way too competitive |
