Huge black Friday Adsense bump!?

Hi everyone...

Is anyone else seeing huge traffic spikes and massive Adsense earnings increases over the last few days? My stats and earnings are shooting thru the roof...

It's got to be a black Friday shopping thing...you always expect a jump over the holidays...but with the recent panda updates, I didn't expect numbers like this!

Anyone else seeing similar increases?

I don't really use adsense on shopping sites, I use amazon, but yeah I did see a huge jump in my amazon earnings (and traffic) yesterday.

Never use or mix adsense with another affiliate or shopping site. I always place adsense to stay alone.

Yes!

Have very expensive clicks on my various affiliate sites the past few days...guess it's now until Christmas maybe...

Yeah, I'm experiencing a nice jump in adsense clicks & amazon sales from organic traffic on a lot of my micro niche sites (mainly the product based sites). Usually for holidays I like to down size the number of ads on my niche sites and only leave one adsense ad in the content to yield more value to each click, hence more earnings.

I saw a big increase on the CTR for 2 of my sites the traffic count stayed the same. I had changed from one theme to another and the click through rates are still better so we will see. (traffic was the same the CTR was better)

How long ago did you switch themes? Seems like when I do that, Google slaps me for a while until it figures out what it wants to do with the new theme

I didn't see the change until Saturday but I'm not griping. I've been doing this for 13 years and have never seen any holiday increases until Monday and even then it took a day or two to reach full effect.

On Saturday my Adsense income increased by about 30% and that's considering that it has slowly been climbing for about two weeks before that. So far today (Sunday) looks about the same.

I don't do a lot with Amazon and only average about eight dollars per day normally. Saturday was $47!

It certainly appears that the brick and mortar stores may have used Adsense in a much bigger way this year to get customers into their locations than they did in previous years and possibly many people skipped the brick and mortars and went straight to the web. If they continue that through the holidays plus the internet companies start advertising tomorrow ... well, WOW is the only word for it!

Stick to the basic. Write quality articles and your visitors will keep coming back instead of relying solely on one time organic traffic. I mean, look at how those famous blogs thrive.

Yes I don't think we'll have any problem regarding mix your income between Amazon and Adsense and I never heard Google prohbited this action.

There is always a natural spike in internet traffic during this time of year. Traffic on my sites have increased as well.

So far today the Cyber Monday craziness has continued. Adsense earnings just keep climbing. It's going to be interesting to see how the exact percentage increases shake out when the smoke clears...

Is everyone else making out like a bandit today too? It's killing Black Friday's numbers so far...

No my sites actually lost traffic and earnings. However, on Saturday both my traffic and my earnings went crazy high. I was surprised because my sites are in the medical niche.

Yeah, most of the people that I've talked to who have had crazy increases over black friday and cyber monday had websites that are more consumer/product related.... which I suppose makes sense since the whole phenomena is fueled by people shopping for stuff...

Amazon has been great for me, adsense not so much. I'm waiting to see how 'cyber monday' affected my amazon conversion.

Strangely enough, my amazon commissions have been way down all weekend. I'd think it would be the opposite....but I'm too happy about the Adsense boost to really care

Good to hear. I also did a lot more sales on black Friday, with just one of my sites pulling in $60. Perhaps not a fortune by some people's standards, but considering it was only one of my sites, I'll take it.

I spoke too soon...yesterday I sold $835 worth of products on Amazon.com, I'm at the 7% commission level so I made a nice $59 in income...add that to the $98 in adsense earnings and Cyber Monday turned out pretty good!

Will be curious to see if levels stay like this for the whole x-mas shopping season. I expect them to decline a bit, but stay generally strong.

So much fun!
