Does having a Sitemap page increase your SEO/SERP?

And also, does having any/all of these pages increase your SEO/SERP, for example,

About Us, Contact Us, Privacy, Terms, Disclaimer

Many SEO experts claim that a Sitemap does increase a website's ranking on search engines but I have never really understood why. I guess it helps because it perhaps helps spiders crawl a website better and fully?

Sitemap be helpful specially when you have the huge website that full of many pages and information. So for visitor to visit the all pages of the site , sitemap be helpful. And also to crawl the whole site and to make the all pages noticed sitemap be helpful.

An xml and html site map is good for helping the engines navigate and decide on the hirachy of the pages on your site. Teh other pages mentioned are good to have from a user point of view and from an SEO point of view as they create a sense of trust and legitimacy. I would be wary to trust a site with no contact details wouldn't you?

I don't think these are for increasing your ranking in SE. But these are made for the user point of view & to make the website user friendly.

Site map is useful to get indexed fast in Google.site map is good to navigate the search engines and they are effective for the hirachy of the page of your website as well.

Sitemap is the most requited thing to website becasue if your site map gets index over Google then your complete site can earn good benefits from search engine.

Having an xml sitemap in website will help in easy crawling of your website. To increase rankings build back links from quality seo sources.

Some sites have pages like 10 directories deep and supposedly that can harm spiders to crawl your content. And of course bad inside-linkings.

Sitemap can't harm your rankings.
