Default Best way to check keyword positions?

What is the best way to check your keyword positions?
Is there software to do this, or just key it in, and scroll through the pages?

After you have 5-8 per site, gets a bit overwhelming to check them...

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thx...

You can do this with Traffic Travis...even the free version but it limits the number of campaigns so if you have a lot of sites you will need to upgrade to the paid verson.

I use the SEOBook Toolbar. It comes with a rank checker and it works pretty well.

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

Actually I've tried quite a few of these, and if you are like me and have a ton of keywords and projects to monitor it can be a PAIN.

Especially Market Samurai, I'm now completely regretting this purchase. My ranking files have been corrupted so many times I can't even count. To the point that you literally CANNOT do anything with the files anymore.

I've tried many other localized types, Rank Tracker, Rankerizer, etc. Those too require too much manual work.

The online ones are expensive too, although the best one I've found yet is Serpfox, it does a great job of checking rankings for any Google TLD & it updates throughout the day (actually overkill!) but nonetheless its been the best and most cost effective solution I've found yet.

Manual check for the keyword position is the best way and to get the accurate & perfect results. As first set the more results per pages and then enter your keyword and in find box enter your site url without the www.

Raven Tools is very good but a little expensive especially if you have alot of sites and keywords to track.

I am beta testing a rank tracker that seems to have a really good potential it is called... seometrics

If you've only got a few to check, my advice would be to use a Chrome "incognito" window. Seems to give me the most consistent results.

Sescout is the best because it's all done online so your not having to run lengthy updates on your PC.

If your tight for cash in firefox you can go to ===>tools===>start private browsing

This takes any personalization away from the search results.

I use scroogle.org . Just input your desired keyword and choose 100 results so it shows you the first 100 positions. This is great since it basically does a simple google search, but without your cookies or ip, allowing for a natural keyword positioning scrape. It's a lot more reliable than market samurai imho.

Microsite Masters is hands down the best SERP tracker on the market. It's daily, web-based, and most important... ACCURATE. If you are tracking ranking positions manually or relying on tools that update weekly, you're doing yourself (and your clients!) a disservice.

The best options so far are Traffic Travis, SERPattacks, and Market Samurai. They are quite impressive in terms of tracking SERP positions.

There are plenty of software that can help, but you could simply just type in your keyword in the search engine, and not the position your site is in (that is if it's in the top 1000)
