Post Which is the best KW strategy for local SEO?

If say, a local business will service up to a 30 mile radius - which is the best kw strategy?

Should it be - bike repair, bike equipment, etc., and then all the local towns listed: canton, woodstock, cumming or should it be: bike repair canton, bike repair woodstock, and so forth.

I know this is for Bing and not Google, but just wondering what is the best way to be found for local searches.

Thanks!

first off, it helps if their domain name is an exact match for some of the keywords that they are targetting, for instance if they are blah pool repair. It would be nice if the domain said blahpoolrepair.com. I would definately include the word pool in your keywords as well as repair, maintenance, etc. I would also include the town and the city. This is your best of people finding them on whatever search engine.

So are you saying this way is best: pool repair canton, pool repair roswell, pool cleaning canton, pool cleaning roswell? Or can I do this: pool repair, canton, roswell, woodstock, georgetown, etc.?

Or does it matter?

That is horrible advice. This is a real business, not some little IM'ers MFA site. Their domain name should be their business name. End of story. They are a brand, not a keyword.

If you can't rank a keyword without the benefit of an SEO friendly URL, then you should hire someone that can.

To answer the OP's question, ideally you want to target keywords with local towns as well as keywords without. So if your keyword is "blue widgets" and the town you are targeting is Canton...

blue widgets in canton
canton blue widgets
blue widget stores canton
blue widget stores in canton
blue widgets in canton, oh
canotn oh blue widgets

etc...

But you would also want to target blue widgets because that is going to bring up local results with Google Places for anyone that searches without the town name. There is no way to know how many local searches there are for that term, but it is still a good idea to get the site to #1 for that as well.

I would use your business name first off. Second, I would build landing pages for each city/town.

I.e:
Your domain.com/keyword-town. You could even add your state abrieviated

First observe that in what way people enter the query for their need and that way set your keyword for the local business. As google show the site that has exact matched word and also with that quality content.
