Why Has Google Changed my Title/Meta Description, and How Do I Get it Back?

Yesterday, I woke up to see that Google had changed my title and meta description in the SERPS. This hurts, because I have a very good CTR

Is there a way I can get them to use the correct one?

Yeah, i have seen that happening a lot off late. For instance if you have your Title as "My Main Keyword - My Main Keyword Reviews" and then if you search for "My Main Keyword" then it will only show you that on serp and if you search the other one "My Main Keyword Reviews" then it will show you that one only. Strange, but that's how they have been doing it from last couple of weeks.

Snippets with more page content and less header/menu content: This change helps us choose more relevant text to use in snippets. As we improve our understanding of web page structure, we are now more likely to pick text from the actual page content, and less likely to use text that is part of a header or menu.

I have now put the title/meta descrip on my actual page. We will see if this makes a change. My CTR is really suffering as a result of this move by Google

Interesting thing is, none of my competitors have been affected by this. Sometimes I wonder if I hit on a Google higher-up's girlfriend or something. It seems like they invent ways to screw me over

Unfortunately Google doesn't consider our feelings when they make changes
