How to get traffic

Hi I just started a website.
The way I have it set up is having my website redirect to my affiliate code.
I would like to find a way now to start getting some traffic. and I'm looking for a good PPC. I'm looking for advice on to getting some traffic. any ideas are welcomed.

To get targeted traffic, you should post on relevant forums and blogs. Write articles, press releases and also use your social network for getting more visitors that you require rather than bulk traffic. Use all possible SEO techniques except Black hat to attract visitors.

I think off-page optimization techniques are helpful you to get good page rank and traffic results.Article submission and do-follow blog commenting are the best ways to increase your traffic results.

I would focus on seo. One of my sites I just recently built about a month ago was only getting 0 to 5 visitors every other day. Right now its sitting at #3 on Google and its bringing in over 100 visitors a day. The site has already paid for itself.

You can also try YouTube videos but the only thing is you need A LOT of videos to make consistent income. Say your site is about weight loss. Create videos saying stuff like how being overweight is bad and add a link to your site. There are many ways. If you're going with PPC expect to lose money at first.

PPC is effective way of getting traffic from search engine but need advertising expensive. Similarly it is good idea to start with PPC and while doing SEO to get good ranking. As you get good ranking with SEO then stop the PPC.

Similarly do some social media optimization too. As social media is effective way of getting good amount of traffic to your website.

If your willing to spend money on PPC, then I would recommend spending on ensuring your onsite SEO is solid then using a service to increase your website presence before spending money on PPC.

I would suggest article marketing to get more traffic to your site. Apart from that, blog comments too will help you (But from my point of view, it is not easy to find SPAM free blog-post page)

You can try with search engines too, to get massive traffic.

My suggestion is do not get into SEO in beginning, you will waste your time since there is a loot of competition and lot of tools. WEB2.0 is what you need. Just my two cents.

Decision which you have take in choice of the PPC is good as it is the best way to get the quick and best results. But yet try to get the traffic through some natural way and using the SEO methods. As provide the best content and unique description in your submission for getting the better results. You can use social media for the more traffic as these days it plays the major role for the site results.

Do not forget as well about the Alexa ranking. It is still a high indicator for your site traffic. Install Alexa toolbar and widgets on your site at first.
