Hey everyone... When it comes to my adsense sites, MOST of my traffic comes from Google. But I do tend to get a trickle from Yahoo and Bing... And I'm sort of comforted by the fact that when one of my adsense sites gets deindexed from Google, I can continue to count on a steady stream of income from Yahoo/Bing...even if it's not much traffic, it's usually enough to earn enough adsense income to cover webhosting costs and domain name renewal fees with some leftover... But recently I've noticed some weirdness going on at Bing/Yahoo. It's like there's an algorithm change going on over there...which is weird because they don't seem to ever mess with the Bing algorithm (ala a Google Panda-type update). Has anyone else noticed any Yahoo/Bing algorithm weirdness lately?? |

no, not yet. Plus, I don't usually keep track of Yahoo/Bing algorithm changes.

I gave up on Bing a long time ago, and these days I care less about Yahoo Search, since it's powered by a less-adequate Bing.

| Deindexing is when Google removes your site from the Google index...it has nothing to do with closing your adsense account...since your site still exists, and it still runs adsense ads, you can continue to get traffic from other sources such as Yahoo/Bing or even just word of mouth etc... |

Hi MF, It's such a small amount of traffic <for me> that it's hardly worth my time checking (I do understand that one's niche might affect percentage of traffic from these sites and also, in particular, age demographic). I'd be more worried about what you are doing to get yourself de-indexed from google. (If you do, indeed, mean de-indexed). You talk about your sites getting de-indexed like it's "run-of-the-mill". Is this happening a lot? I think I'd be concentrating on that problem, first and foremost. |

I did no link building work myself, no blog comments, nothing even borderline tricky...in fact, I hadn't touched the site in years. Google recently sent me a message via webmaster tools one day that said that site didn't meet quality guidelines. Boom just like that it was deindexed after nearly 15 years online. I filed a reconsideration request and was completely ignored. So let's be serious about it... yes it happens all the time, no there's not a damn thing you can do about it. It's Google's world, we just live here...

Yes I have noticed, I have lost several sites in Bing, old sites that ranked for a long time. Cannot find them at all in Bing now. After Panda they publicly said they (Bing) were going to start taking what they consider to be "thin" "not of value sites" from their index. While they are trying to say that this has always been their policy that's BS, this is new, learn more from link below. It's like Bing's version of Panda, except unlike Google who just lowered rankings for such sites, Bing is wiping them out completely. They banned several big holiday deals sites this year, and the biggest one to be taken out of Bing results was the original Cyber Monday site, from the people who created Cyber Monday. Here's the whole story at Search Engine Land: Bing Bans Holiday Deals Sites, Including One By Group That Created Cyber Monday Even for the most competitive kw, they are returning very little results. The reason you don't hear much about this is because like all the responses you got to this thread most marketers never check Bing, but I do. They are full of crap anyway, if you search for anything on Bing now you will typically get about 5 pages of big brands and nothing more. A couple of my sites I cannot find in Bing are thick, full of content sites that rank high on Google for competitive KW, so Bing is full of it more now than ever. |

I noticed one of my sites is now gone from bing. It's wierd because just 2 weeks ago I was running an ad on the microsoft ad center that I had to get approved for. They still ran my ppc ads but website is nowhere to be found in the organics now. I guess I won't be advertising on bing anymore ever. It's a content rich site and doing well on google and still on yahoo. I signed up for a bing webmaster tools account to see if they have a message regarding a reason for the delisting. Unfortunately no data is available after 2 days so I guess I just have to wait it out. Anybody else have experience with this situation?

Thought I would post an update. Looks like everything is back to normal. It seemed to be deindexed for a short period of time...2-3 days and now it's back to where it was before this all happened. Wierd....
