Hey Everyone, I'm not a happy camper right now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is my story. I registered a new domain about a month ago. it has been moving up slowly on the search engine results for BROAD keyword searches without quotes. 2 days ago, my website was on the top of page 3 in the search engine results. Today search for the exact same keywords and I can't even find my website at all in the results!!!!!!It really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The website is a simple wordpress blog with out 4 high quality articles, no spam or anything like that. If I do a keyword search for the same keywords in "quotes" the site shows up on page one. But if i search without quotes, the site is no where to be found. I"m really confused and frustrated right now about this. I really hope someone can help me. The main question on my mind is this: Is it possible for someone to manipulate my seo ranking? Any and all help is greatly greatly appreciated!! A few other questions: Is there a tool or resources I can use to find out exactly what happend? How should I proceed? Should I continue to generate more content on the site, etc? |

Welcome to the roller coaster world of SEO. Keep adding content; keep building links. And it is highly unlikely that anyone is manipulating your results. It's just what is known as the "Google Dance." Search on here and you will find lots of threads from frustrated Warriors like yourself.

One suggestion: don't rely on just on a single site. Build 3, 4, 5 of them for a single niche. Google is just too unpredictable, as you're finding out.

I see this happen ALL THE TIME with my own sites and those of my clients. You'll be high in the rankings one day and nowhere to be found the next. But it's no reason for concern, in most cases. The sites usually come back on their own in a day or two, or a few weeks at most. It's very, VERY common.

There probably are ways for people to manipulate your Google ranking but I don't think that's what's happened here. It sounds like the Google dance to me. I wouldn't get too frustrated over 1 day or even 2 or 3. I've got a page that since November 7th has moved from position 178, to position 46 and then back down to position 134 for its selected keywords. I've got another page that was position 140 on November 25th and is now not in the top 500 positions for its selected keywords. Give it at least another month before you start analysing. As for the tools you can use Search Engine Genie's Free Google Rank Checker to see if your site is still listed in the top 300. You can also pay for more sophisticated rank tracking software which will be able to track all the changes in rank for you. How you move forward depends on your plans for the website. If you want to be ranking for lots of keywords then I would generate more content. If you just want to focus on getting this article ranked higher for a specific keyword I would generate some backlinks to it. Tom |

Don't sweat it, this happens all the time in the SEO world so you might as well get used to it. Continue building your site up and it'll surely come back. Good luck!

It's normal... that can happen even to old website.. no one can manipulate google ranking... if someone does, web users will end-up with a lot of garbage, besides, google will not allow search engine ranking manipulation to happen,, if it does, then the existance of google will no longer viable. Just keeping giving your site healthy & relevant backlinks and add more useful content.. |

This is typical. You might want to have a read of this article below. The Ups and Downs of Google Rankings and Highly Emotional Panicky Clients. By the way, this should've been posted in the SEO forum. http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...cussion-forum/ |
