google .com vs .pl

My new site is on 1st page of google when I use google.com
But when I use .pl (for my country) site isn't even on first 10 pages.
Why is that? Will it be on first page? Do I need just wait longer? Or there's way to 'fix' it?

Get some links from .pl sites and/or sites hosted in that country.

You just need to focus your attention towards sites from your country in your case Poland.

You will also recognize the .edu or the .gov sites because there are in your language....they don't need to have this form .edu.pl.....cheers mate and good luck.

I edited this post, I mistunderstood you 'serena85'. Sites .edu and .gov are in my language only when thay are .edu.pl and gov.pl

So to be sure: these sites should be in my language and best to be .pl, right?

Google create .co.uk .com.au in order for specific country users use the "local" country google hence users got country specific results rather than global or general results.

So if you use .pl, google is automatically assume that you are targeting .pl searchers.

I think .com is USA

I know this because i have country specific domain name and google automatically assume the domain target that specific country hence if a user uses country specific google, country specific domain name may have an advantage over .com, this is just my assumption.

Not a big fan of those backlinks (.edu) as most of them get washed with time. Imagine waking up to see that administrators of various forums have started killing dead accounts with some signature link!?

i used a .com site for google .de and it worked fine... but you obviously have to make a linkbuilding for .de sites... if 90% of you backlinks are english ones google will obv think that the site if realted to the english speaking market... so get backlinks from .pl sites and your rankings should improve

If your site contents are not native to your language then it will become hard to rank high unless you build great and quality backlinks from other sites in your country.

Well the reason for this can be that you website is being hosted in US, that's why its appearing with in the search results of Google.com...... In order to make your website to appear with in the local search try for and build some backlinks to your websites from the domains of Poland....

After few weeks of linking I know that you were right, I needed .pl backlinks.

Now I'm thinging about one more thing: if I'll change from youtube.com to youtube.pl I'm automaticly redirected to youtube.com. So what if I promote youtube.pl/watch?v=blablabla will it be easier to promote for me than youtube.com/watch?v=blablabla?

Building backlinks for polish website is a little bit different than building for english Google.
Here is what you have to do:
1. Go to Google Webmaster Tool and choose Poland as destination
2. If you have hosting in US, move to some polish hosting company with polish IP c-class address - It might be even cheaper than in US - in Poland we do not have such a good affiliate programs
3. Go to Sprawny Marketing i Pozycjonowanie stron internetowych for ideas about building backlinks on our country.
