amazon product no longer selling - adsense is working though

I have some amazon product review articles which also have adsense ads as well as the amazon link to product.

Now for example in 1 article that product is no longer sold - at all - totally removed from amazon.

Naturally adsense is still running, but the amazon ads became generic amazon click to go to amazon kind of small banners.

my question:

what would you suggest I do in such cases? the article is entirely specifically a review of that no longer selling product....

Adsense and start another site. Banners are low conversion.

Keep the page, but add a bit about a great alternative
to the discontinued product that is sold on amazon.
Add the ads, then create another page solely for this
alternative product, link it off that original page.
Done and done.

Orphan product pages can be goldmines, provided
people are still searching for it.

Kikos - Is the product not available anymore anyplace? Or just not through Amazon? If you can find it through another online retailer that has an affiliate program (such as Walmart, for example) then you can keep your page with the content and simply change your affiliate link from Amazon to the new retailer.

If, however, the product is not available at all you could follow paulgl's advice to offer a substitute item. Explain that the original product is not longer available but that you've done some research and found a substitute product that you recommend. Then include review information about the new item, or link to a new page that has a review of the item.
