Hi there, I try to use an average of two small adsense banners per page. One is an graphic banner, generally it isn't always very niche related as motorcycles in Canada aren't all too common due to the cold weather, the other is a small text ad banner. For 4,500 avg. visitors per month I'm only getting around $30.00 in AdSense revenue. Do you think I should change/modify/add more AdSense or just keep waiting. My articles are all original and many feature images (with permission) from a top local photographer to really make things more interesting (I believe I learned this from WF some time ago, thanks - I don't want to dilute my site and the perceived value it brings to visitors, but making a few more bucks wouldn't hurt. How much AdSense is too much AdSense? Should I wait it out and grow? Thoughts? |

I normally only keep 2 blocks on my site as well, I keep the big block 280x360 (or so I believe I can't tell off the top of my head) below my tittle and a short 3 line description. I use the smaller ad block for my side bar and that pretty much it. The colors I match with my background of the website, with blue links and dark grey txt. I don't use image ads only txt and links. Believe it or not, but $30 is not shabby....maybe think about gathering more related kw's to rank for and drive traffic, this will increase your traffic as each new kw will bring in it's own monthly searches. If all else fails just repeat and create more sites. |

What are the main sources of your traffic? People finding your site through 'buyer keywords' are more likely to click on ads. If it's the site in your sig, some things I think are keeping AdSense earnings down: Your site is very 'busy' looking in terms of the design. The images dominate the pages. The pop-up window comes up on every page I visit. |

I think you placed your ads in no a good place of your articles. Its important that visitors see ads. You can try changing the place of your ads some days and follow the results.

My suggestion is try to blend the colours ads with your site, and put them in the heat map. Heat maps more likely, after the post title, under the articles and on the right side.. |

Here's what I mean.. If you have 4,500 visitor to your site and you are getting .05 per click you would have received 600 clicks or a CTR of 13%. If you are getting clicks worth $2 and only had 15 clicks, then your CTR is a measly .3% One is an excellent CTR the other is horrible. One is a very nice CPC, the other stinks... The solution to the problem depends on the actual problem, which you have not defined for us.

Good point! November Product Page views 9,447 Estimated earnings AdSense for Content $27.69 Note: not sure if this matters, but prior to the early November Google PageRank update, the site was PR 0 it is now PR 1. |

I am experiencing quite similar results and asked in this forum is it normal. Now it seems it is quite ok but still we can make some improvements.

I'm sure one of your tests will stick with a higher CTR than that.

On the flipside, I would try to move your ads so at least one or two of them are above the fold. The ads I saw were all below the fold.

A rule of thumb is, if you have more ad space then content, then there may be a problem. Google allows 3 ad blocks for a reason, as well as 3 link units, and 2 search boxes. They want you to use them. But they do caution you that if the page is all about adsense clicks and not user info, then that's not good. Since ad blocks come in many sizes, there is no reason to not have 3 ad blocks. You can have one big, two small, or any other combo. People who refuse to put more ad blocks are refusing to get more revenue. Yes, I admit that in unique cases, one ad block, well placed, can rock. Paul |

Is it a wordpress site? If so you could always play around with a Premium adsense target theme. I think it's a small investment if it means your revenue goes up. It makes split testing alot easier as well.

I've also heard of people who get a lower amount per click for sites with ad's all over the place. They say that google lowers your site's quality score and give you the cheaper un-targeted ad's.

Nowadays its really very tough to create account in the adsense because its very hard to creat new account and all depend upon the traffic over the site.
