Been going through my Squidoo account and noticed a LOT of old lenses have been put back into WiP. I was going to go through them and find what the problem is (for example having to add more tags than they actually give you as options when you first create a lens). But I decided to create a new one to help with the pyramid I am currently working on. I created it with about 1,000 words of unique content, plus a video and a few other modules. Published it fine. Then I decided to link it to a hub on my hubpages account and that seemed to go through fine. The problem is that when I went back I see that this new lens is dumped back in WiP...why? Didn't have a clue. I hunted around the net for ideas with no joy so decided to experiment a bit. After moving some content around, changing a few things (and hitting publish each time) I was getting nowhere, still in Wip, so I decided to remove that hubpage link Instantly it is published again. After going into some old lenses and removing links to hubpages they all got instant approval. It seems Squidoo won't let you link to web 2.0 'competitors'. Dear God, is quality content not enough, now they decide that we can't even link to our own articles elsewhere? For the most part I have done what many hear advise not to do, created quality unique content for these sites, simply to power up backlinks for new sites...but no, seems that is not good enough for Squidoo now. So no linking to hubpages...any other rules? I shall be avoiding Squidoo as much as possible from now on, there are only so many rules I can cope with before they are simply not worth the effort. |

Nice tip ... I have been trying to get some of my Squidoo pages back from the WIP status as well. Likes are always good, and getting them as completed as possible (the little indicator on the right sidebar) has seemed to help.

God knows why some aren't liked by Squidoo though. I can not seem to get this one out of WiP no matter what I do Magnetic Vent Covers any ideas? |

Squidoo has many changes in short period of time. I don't like them neither. The same happened to me when I created HubPages. I linked them to my Squidoo lenses and they were all locked. I don't use HubPages anymore. Do you get traffic to your lens, how much? How's your CTR?

Yeah..it can be frustrating as they keep making changes...but this is the world of internet..we need to keep improving or lag behind...it would be good to have many source of traffic rather then only one...

Rules, Rules, and more Rules! Why can't they just leave us alone? Grr. Makes you wanna go back to the Feudal days, doesn't it? Oh, sorry; it seems we've never left them. Thanks for the tips. They will save us a lot of headaches. LifeIsGood ~ It's About To Get Even Better! |
