| In the past I have successfully used Google Adwords, at the same time I have tried various campaigns that have not been successful too! After selling a particular business, all my Adwords campaigns were paused. I had not used the Adwords campaign for a long time and was surprised to see that I had been banned from Google! I immediately e-mailed Google Adwords, and had an automated e-mail returned to me, I wrote a second time, but I'm still banned! I'm surprised that Google banned me as I don't actually know what I've done wrong, apart from placing ads and paying good money! Especially as all the ads were paused anyway! I just wondered if anyone else had had a similar experience? Thanks for reading. |

I feel your pain. I signed up for adwords a week ago, and yesterday finally setup a campaign. I put $30 in the account to try things out. Woke up today to a big red "You're account is banned" alert on the page. I don't know what I did wrong, or why there wasn't any warning... hell google has ALL of my information to contact me. I figured if something was wrong with the campaign they would disable it, etc Going to call them on Monday to figure out how to get my $30 back, or see if my account can get un-banned. Probably find a different ad network though, as their "banned without warning" policy really hacks me off. |

I no longer use Adwords. I've been testing facebooks ads and I must say they are pretty killer. You can have so many options for who actually sees your ads. Google doesn't have that option, at least not yet, which is why I think they started google+. Think about all the information that facebook has on each of those profile accounts. Their age, city, state, education, employment, sex, fb groups they belong to, business and fan pages they like, plus so much more it's kinda scary. Google can't offer that just yet. You can be very very selective in who on fb actually sees your ads. |

Stop already folks. Please. Just stop. My brain hurts. None of you were banned "for no reason". You all received notifications. You were banned because you broke TOS (knowingly or unknowingly). Google wants to work with professionals only and ignorance is not a defense. Right off the bat: Especially as all the ads were paused anyway! It is stated in TOS that all campaigns (whether paused or active) must comply with all rules. You didn't know this because you didn't understand the TOS to which you agreed. And this... I don't know what I did wrong, or why there wasn't any warning... hell google has ALL of my information to contact me. I figured if something was wrong with the campaign they would disable it, etc They DID contact you. Either you have a bad email address on file or you missed (or ignored) the notifications somehow. In any event, you were notified. And no, they won't necessarily disable your campaign for violations - they disabled your entire account (which is mentioned in TOS as well). As for FaceBook ads... You can have so many options for who actually sees your ads. Except folks trolling around on FaceBook are not in "buying mode", which makes FB ads far less effective for selling stuff, even when you factor in demographics targeting. I hate to sound so mean but, collectively, you need to listen to yourselves. You sound ridiculous to a neutral third party (me and others) when you roll out the "banned for no reason" rant. Why would Google do that? It simply makes no sense. For those considering AdWords and who might be reading this. For God's sake, please read and UNDERSTAND the TOS completely BEFORE jumping in. Google does not want to do business with amateurs who have no regard for TOS. |
