All Things SEO: Is Your Video Ranking?

Greetings Fellow Warriors,

I noticed that lately my seo optimized videos are no longer hitting page one of google search (main/web page). And the ones that were there previously have fallen off too — They still show up on the first page of the "video" search results though.

Anyone else having experience with this? What strategies are you using to rank your vids on the 1st page of search nowadays?

I used Traffic Geyser briefly but cancelled it when I noticed that the results weren't as quick or effective as before. It didn't seem to make a difference in showing up on 1st page search as time went on. Curious to hear your experiences on this one too.

Is there some new strategy going on and I'm just late to the party? Looking forward to your response. There is so much great information here!

I noticed the same thing, since Google seems to focus more on content lately, videos aren't doing so well in most cases lately. I wouldn't shut out traffic geyser and give up, since a lot of people still prefer videos, plus it gives you some high PR backlinks regardless

You think the "Panda" update devalued the videos? That's a good point about still using TG for backlink building. I guess "backlinking" is the new "video" — it's something trying to keep up with a moving train.

As from the before time panda shows the video in the provided results and even after the updation it valued more for the videos in the results. So promote the video with best attractive view and use the proper title for your video that people like to watch it just by seeing the title. And create the effective that be useful to explain the concept more clearly. So this way videos be helpful more in getting the top position. And as you know that youtube is the best site so submit on it. And also in your social media profile , connect the link to your video. And if possible then write little content also that contains in the video , so that be useful for people to comment on it if not facility to heard it.

One thing I keep noticing in the Google SERPs is that videos are more likely to be served for "popular" searches than for more "dry" subject. As a lame example, it's much, much more likely for videos to be served for an "American Idol" or "Justin Beiber" search than for a medical-related search like "ear infections".

Many people make the mistake of trying to get videos to rank when videos are not usually served for the keywords they are targeting.
