Duplicated Content Test?

Hey warriors,

Does anyone know a quick way to check for duplicate content on a website?

The client wants some SEO work doing on the site but I want to check to see if it has any duplicate content on the site before I accept the job.

Any advice here would be appreciated.

Two ways you can do it.

1. Copyscape.

2. Take a paragraph of the content, do a search in Google where you use exact search "paragraph". Any sites with that content word for word will pop up.

I do know there is a bulk site check tool floating around on the internet somewhere but not to sure where it is.

Plenty of sites have duplicate content, as well as the
same content as other sites. 99.9999999% of the time,
it's no big deal.

Duplicate content stuffed around a site to trick or
shmooze google is what may get you dinged. But unless
the person set out to do that, the site is clean. I
personally have met zero people who do that. And if
they did, they would not be asking for any SEO services.
They would know better.

I think you mean "accept" the job.

I'm actually using copyscape since for me it is the best. You can also search on duplicate content tools in Google. And try to use that tools to check if your website content has a duplicate one. Duplicate content issues can decreased the crawl rate and it might delay your website ranking.

I recommend copyscape. Most of my friend's bosses are using this.

I think its more of an issue since the Panda process was introduced. I have had to rewrite parts of sites that were scraped more than once to recover rank, so it can be a big deal in certain cases.

It would not stop me taking the work though, you would just have to get the client to agree up front to rewrite anything that needed it.

In the grand scheme of things dupe content is not a big issue, its easy to fix compared to other issues you may encounter.

We do a lot of this for clients because content is such a vital part of SEO. We use Copyscape on every article our writers submit as we can't afford to provide duplicate content for clients; it's never let us down yet.

Copy scape is the authentic method.
Or take one or two lines and search on google. You will see how many other sites are having the same content.

If i want to check a webpage or website if it has duplicate content, I used copyscape.com
But if i am checking for an article if it has duplicate content i copy and paste a paragraph on that content and paste it on Google search..
