I have a website, ---.com and I have a blog with content on ---.com/blog. The .com is using Joomla whereas the blog is using Wordpress. In Google analytics, they show as two different "sites" and I have to have two different campaigns listed. My question is this: if I get links to my blog, will that affect my main URL SERP? Please advise, and thanks in advance. |

As long as the target keyword is different to the blog and main site, there will not be any affect for serp.

| Now I'd like for both sites (since they ARE related, same company, etc) to be affected by a link, whether it goes to the blog or the main url. Thoughts?

| the one that is getting strong backlinks will be on top, but i would suggest you not to confuse the "Search Robots" by optimizing two different pages for same keywords.
