Adsense got me Paranoid.

So I started up a weak little blog some time ago.

I read a posting by a random person on the Internet saying I could make sick money like Buffett style by getting people to click on silly ads.

I never click ads, I thought. I bet no one clicks them. Who clicks these ads?


So I set up a site. Write some content. Adsene that site like a boss.

Day 1 I get like two clicks. One click was for a buck fifty, other was for like 2 something.

Im on my way. Throw up some backlinks. Write some keyword pregnant articles. Figure I am ready to get the click money rolling in, Warren style.


CRICKETS

Since then I got one click. What's that about? I think the big G***** wanted me to start pumping out content for their Internet.

Thoughts? Explanations? Consultations? Commiserations?

Which keywords are you targeting?

Also, I wonder how did you get two clicks on the first day (without SEOing, unique content), but nothing since?

You definitely don't have nearly enough impressions for your data to be statistically relevant. Aim for a CTR of around 10% and you'll be good. If your CTR is too high, Google will look at your site with suspicion. If it's too low, you won't make any money

Most "weak little blogs" with "keyword pregnant articles" listen to crickets because they don't have any traffic.

Maybe your site got placed higher at first because of it being fresh? I think it is too early to really analyze it!

I was reading in another thread that the domain counts more than the content of the site (paraphrasing).

The poster had a site (bestknifesharpenersreviews.net ) and wondered why it was not ranked well.

I google searched his keyword and one of the sites

bestknifesharpenerreviews.info

looked like it was easily made. Checked and it only had like 20 backlinks.

Someone in the thread said that if you have KW's all over your site google will drop it.



One of the posters said that the guy could have had 40,000 words and not mentioned knifesharperne review once and ranked better if he had a better domain.

Should I be concerned about too many KW's shoudl I just write insane stream of conscious ramblings every few posts to make sure that it is not flagged. Is it flagged? is this the reason I do not rank.

I was told that blogspot.com is a weak little choice to use but I aint spending a cent on this project yet.

Why do people not like putting their sites out there? I read here and on DP all of these people making sick bank with adsense sites but most often their only link is to a site talking about making sick bank? I smell a hustle straight outta the Sting on that one. I call foul.

If you are serious about making money online you shouldn't be using blogspot.

Get your own domain + hosting it seriously doesn't cost much.

Heck, I can offer cheap cpanel hosting for you with all the bells and whistles if you would like.

The content, on-page optimization, and backlinks will trump the domain name. An exact match domain name is just a little "bonus boost" in rankings.

Keyword stuffing will not help your ranking. Target between 1 and 2% and you'll be fine, but don't get to focused on it.

BlogSpot is a weak choice only because you do not own the properly. It can be here today, gone tomorrow. You cannot sell it. You can get a domain name for around $10, or sometimes as low as $1 if you catch a GoDaddy promotion. You can get hosting for under $5/month. Then you own the site and can sell it in the future if you choose.

Getting your site ranked highly for phrases you are targeting is going to be a mix of well planned high-quality content, high-quality backlinks in sufficient quantity, and excellent research.

Funny - but you've missed the point of adsense and keywords.

Adsense income requires site visitors.

Ranking high for a keyword is only valuable if people are searching for that keyword. "boob doctor" gets less than 10 searches so while it's funny, probably won't be highly profitable.

That's the point of keyword research - to find phrases folks are looking for and get your site in front of them.

I am confused? I used Google KW tool and searched "boob doctor" and it gets 1,900 local searches. I was looking for something "low competition" I had liposuction but it is "high competition"

Am I reading KW tool wrong?

Why would it be taken as soft porn? Lots of the weight loss and lipo pages use these types of images? For instance, i wont post the link..but the second result for "boob jobs" has topless photos of before/after shots?

Also...liposuction.com has pretty much the same photos.

This has me paranoid...should I change the photo? What do people think?

You've gotten some good advice but only experience is going to teach you because you've made up your mind. I don't know if this is a profitable niche or not as I've never researched it. A quick search (my own method) of keywords tells me those keyword results wouldn't work for me.

The site is #1 in google - so if you are right about the keywords you should be getting traffic. Are you?

CTR for google adsense are around 5 to 8%. If you are getting more than that google will block your account and than you will have to try to get your account setup again.

SO I signed into my Adsense account today and I see this...

Page Views 90 Clicks 44 Page CTR 48.00

I will add that I was getting a Sweet BUCK + per click. But today's CLICK BARRAGE got my like a .20 per click.

What? Am I going to get flagged for this? I dont ever click my own links so I am like...hey dont mess with my account Google Bro.


I am paranoid that the high CTR is going to get me flagged.


It seems like people could use this to sabotage their competition. Like, for instance, I have a site that is designed around Coffee Cups as a key word...and I see another site that ranks better. I might go and click that sites ads like a madman and get their account flagged?

Google wont penalize me if they see that all these clicks didn't come from my IP will they?




Is this a major problem. Will one Day of unreal CTR bounce you? I have had those weak little blogs up for months sitting out in the middle of the lonely Internets and now one gets 46 clicks at once? I am getting more traffic but only from this forum.

The reverse engineering was a sly weak joke obviously. But it wasn't about "boob doctors" it was about my new Adsense KeyWord find...the one that will make me sick bank.

I posted the numbers in RED. I didnt say the niche (silly word) it was in but it was in something i don't see money value in so I dont see what ypes of ads. The CPC was like less than a BUCK.

I don't think it's allowed to force someone in clicking your own ad to make a living with Google Adsense. Just give valuable content, do backlinks and proper on-page SEO to your blog.

LOL! I have websites with up to a 30% CTR and they are not banned... I have read people that sites that are bordering on 100% CTR and they have had those sites forever. CTR is not going to get you banned, but if you have poor quality traffic, i.e., low converting traffic. Google will either smart price you or if they detect fraudulent clicks penalize or ban you.
