Hey Warriors, So I have a page that is ranking well for a keyword that I didn't plan on. The keyword I planned for was "how can you blank" and my page is ranking better for the keyword "where do you blank" My on-page seo for this particular page is focused on the first keyword "how can you blank" since the other keyword is ranking better and actually gets more search volume, would it be smart to revise the content on this page to focus on the other keyword "where do you blank"? Basically asking if it is a good idea to adjust the content of an indexed page to try and focus on a slightly different keyword or if this is somehow frowned upon by Google. My idea is that I would like to rank for this better keyword and if I change the on-page seo to this better keyword It may help my rankings. Or make a whole new page with this different keyword but since the page in question has backlinks and is on page 2 of Google I figure best to use this existing page. Thanks guys I hope this makes sense |

I'd keep the content on the page as it is if you want to continue to rank for that keyword. Google will recrawl it and re-index the page based upon the updates. Create a new page for any other keywords you want to rank for and develop backlinks for that page solely. |

I agree with Ryan. Leave the page alone and create others SEOed for "where do you".

Makes sense. However I actually don't want to rank for that first keyword anymore. I messed up when researching it and it turned out to be not so great. So with that being said it would seem changing the content might be a good idea?
