Default Competitor playing dirty

I have a competitor who copied my articles and submitted them to a bunch of article directories ...mostly likely through AMR or some other network.

Needless to say there's now thousands of exact copies and spun duplicates of my content everywhere on the web, with backlinks to his site of course.

His 'work' paid off too ..he's number 1-2 for many of the 50 main terms I'm tracking, each with 10,000 to 50,000 exact match searches. I'm number 2 - 8. We both started at the time, but I opted for a more quality over quantity approach. Quantity is winning here, the backlinks comparison are at like a 10 to 1 ratio.

Let's hear some suggestions?

Just contact his/her web hosting provider with evidence that they have copied your content. In most cases, they will suspend his/her account.

he's not posting the content to his website. just adding on his backlinks and sending it out the crappy directories and made for backlinks blogs.

I am going to have to do a combination of re-writing some of my content and sending out google dmcas to these sites. that's gonna cost alot of time and money.

if you are the owner of the content do not have to worry because Google can recognize who is violating their policies and when you drop your po will spend a lot. You can also notify Google of that case.

You want to get back to the top, quality backlinks pointing back to your sites pages. USe a number of different diverse linking techniques to re rank your site. The evil alternative, outsource your quality backlinking and then go to fiver and purchase lots of junk gigs and have them blast the **** out of their site. If it's a relatively new site you maybe able to get it fall off the first page completely.

I would recommend the first option though, if you spend the time building up your backlinks to all your pages you'll find that you can take back your lost spots and have a solid foundation to not lose them again.

Well that's mainly why i'm worried. It actually has been proven that Google isn't that great at determining the owner of content they index. I've seen so many examples of sites with much higher authority than any I've owned being outranked by scrappers. And Panda made it even worse.

Seriously? Does a web host give a dam* if some 'xyz' content is stolen from some 'xyz' person and posted on some 'xyz' article site???? What are they, the moral police?

Please read the OP's post completely before posting ridiculous ideas.

If that guy is using some local VPS, they won't give you a dam*. Try to contact those free copyright protection organization online, they will help you on this.

Yeah don't stress, Google can see which article was posted first when duplicate contents are detected. It takes a while for them to realize this, so be patient. But go to his site and grab his email send him a friendly warning (and yes, try and be friendly if you can)
