Finally! I hit rank 1 but I have a question

I finally hit rank 1 with one of my keywords =). The only thing is that I want to add more content to the page. I don't want to delete anything, or change any of the old content but to just add more. Will this affect my rankings? I was told only if I deleted some words, and change some words but not if I were to add more?

Any thoughts?

I added a bunch more content to my page a few months ago. It did nothing but help the rankings and even get found for more searches.

Paul..congratulations. This will improve your presence more but not pull you down. All you have to do is..don't stop creating backlinks, create as much as links possible.

Perfect. Thanks a lot. I'll be adding more content then. I just feel like if I'm rank 1, I want to make sure that it really deserves that spot. I want to have the best content as possible, and seeing as of right now it's not. Therefore I want to keep adding more to it!

Updation in the content and the page be helpful in the ranking and affect the results positively, but still it is necessary to provide the useful and fresh content in your updation and then only you can get effective results for your site. And if you add more meaningful words then there is no need to delete the old one as this can also affect the ranking but negatively if deleted mistakenly the meaningful content.

After panda update, its always wise idea to update your content on a site if previous content was genuine then you dont need to remove it. New content will helps you to improve your website ranking.
