The URL that shows up in Google SERPS for a few of my webpages is the host url that I originally bought the web space with, not the URL i purchased from GoDaddy that is forwarded. Is there anyway to change this without losing SERP position? EX Hosturl.com For Niche Site A, i have NicheSiteA.com. But when I go to google the URL that google has in the SERP is hosturl.com/nicheSiteA/. It makes my page look very unprofessional and I was wondering if I can get any help with this. |

Has it been 1-2 days since you launched your site? Then just wait.

you have installed the "nichesiteA" in the root directory of "hosturl". create separate directories for both and install both in respective directories.

| Thanks that explains a lot. Should I do a 301 redirect on these pages? How does one come up to actually doing that?

Also where do I create this directory? I previously created it in the public_html folder. Do i make a new directory called nichesiteA in the main directory of the site?

| I use Hostgator, and whenever I buy a domain from GoDaddy and point it to my Hostgator nameservers, I usually have to go through the "Addon Domain" process. This creates a subdomain from that domain I bought (i.e. myfastcars.originalhostingurl.com), but automatically redirects to my main URL (myfastcars.com). The subdomain is never indexed, either.

So I moved my folder from originalhostingurl.com/nichesiteA (which was in the public_html previously) into its own folder called nichesiteA in the root directory. Now I am editing my WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL) in the settings. How do I tell wordpress what my wordpress address is now if its in the root folder? | |
