I seriously hate google so much right now ...

So, I decided to test drive adwords with $100 to promote one of my sites. I created the campaign, put in my keywords and went to bed last night waiting for everything to get approved. Wake up today, and what do I see - yep, you guessed it, "Your account is permanently suspended due to "Repeated violation" of the landing page. "

When I saw that I almost punched my screen. REPEATED VIOLATION? Really Google? It was my FIRST campaign EVER. I get that they are a big company and don't give a f*k about people like me with lousy $100, but still, at least they could just unapprove the campaign, why suspend? Google can seriously f*ck off.

Was it a website that provided value with unique content?

Adwords is a complete pain in the you-know-what.

I long for the days of finding cheap keywords, linking to an affiliate offer, and watching the sales roll in. Those were good times.

Now? Not so much. Unless you've got a big budget it's more of a hassle than it's worth.

Try 7Search, had more success with them than adwords and they tend to be much cheaper too.

Dont rely on the Big G, just too unpredictable.

^Nope, just said that I "repeatedly" violated their TOS for landing page, which proofs how much Google cares about their customers or even pays attention to them. I understand I'm nothing to google because they are sooo big, but still, it's just not right in my opinion. It was my first day with Adwords, my first campaign ... what a f**** great experience.
I've been using so far Facebook and 7search. Decided to try Adwords and that's what I get ...

There are several PPC you can utilize, Google most likely have more clients than they can handle right now.

I foresee opportunities for small PPC companies.

Google loves banning people for some reason. While you can't really escape that, you can still use other advertising systems that are almost as good.

"Repeated violation"? This sounds really bad, but errors do happen, especially with complex automated checking systems. Did you try contacting them? Is your account still blocked? I think that Google is the best advertising option in terms of traffic quality and volume, but their cost per click and the way they treat small customers is just getting worse and worse every year. Yahoo/MSN is the most common alternative but at the same time there are plenty of other networks that also offer quality traffic with signifficantly lower CPC, way more flexible terms and personalized support. I assume the $100 was a free Adwords voucher, so you didn't lose a penny.

So what's the big deal?

Would you have rather spent $1k of your own money & got $hit canned?

Yes I did read the TOS. I'm not even pissed about getting banned, it's whatever. What I'm mad about is that they gave me a BS reason + told me it was a "Repeated Violation", like I kept on trying and trying and trying when it was my FIRST AND ONLY campaign. The account was BRAND NEW, 1 days OLD!!!!!!! I guess they just hate on SEO companies?

Thats why I think it is better to stick with organic advertisement. Spending money on advertisement is just like playing poker, if it is your lucky day you will get all and if bad luck is dominating than you will loose everything even if you are hiding something in your underwear

Same thing happened to me! They offered me a $75 voucher, I set up a campaign...making sure not to break any one of their TOS ...everything looked fine. Then next day I got the banned for life message before my campaign got it's first impression.

They keep talking about their TOS (which I didn't break) so I reminded them that their company regularly makes the news headlines for doing illegal stuff.

They are a terrible company!!

That'd be my guess right there, SEO services.

Depending on how detailed you are about your methods on your site, they would probably assume that you are just one of those gaming the system by placing lots of unnatural backlinks to get high SEO rankings, and they obviously don't like it as it's their system (google search) which you would be gaming.

I'm not passing any judgement on your site or your methods, I'm just saying that seems likely to be what happened.

Probably something to do with that, I'd say.

Google can essentially do whatever the heck they want since they basically own the market. I gave up and moved on to traditional SEO which doesn't provide the instant results that Adwords does. But it's nice not having to "gamble" with funds and worry about getting banned. (Which, I guess can still happen with SEO.)
