is there a relation between the number of indexed pages and better ranking ?

There is no direct relation of number of indexed pages and ranking. If you have 100 indexed pages and only one of them is optimized for the results, number of indexed pages won't have any effect on the ranking of other pages.

Yes, the larger your site, the more it is seen as an "authority site", especially if the topic is similar. However, as per Panda, don't have low quality pages just to have more pages on your site as this can actually hurt ranking across the entire site.

If all of your indexed pages refer to each other by interlinking and use similar kw's then yes this can increase your rankings.

It depends on what kind of pages are indexed - if they are quality content pages that provide a lot of value, then it adds depth to your site and can help your site to rank as such. That's why you will hear people recommend you that you add content on a regular basis, as it adds depth and makes the search engines come to your site more often.

Yeah it is! But the page indexed should be worthy and contents should be fine.This may help in better ranking.

If you have optimized your websites properly for the targeted keywords but it isn't indexed than you may expect to have better ranking after indexing...But If you haven't optimized your websites at all then just indexing , you won't get good results.
