Default Spying on a competitor in a different way

I want to spy on my competitors, but not to find backlinks. I want to find out what their most visited pages are. Is that possible? I know I have to install analytics on my own website to do so, so I'm thinking it'll be hard or impossible.

But if I could find out what all my competitors' most visited pages are, I can compile a list of pages I need and work to rank those.

That's gonna be very hard, but here's what you can do:

You can check the meta keywords for each of their pages that you're interested in. If they're doing SEO the standard way, that's probably how you're going to find out what they're targeting. Then, check their rankings for the selected keywords and compare it to the search volume of the keywords.

This should give you a basic idea of roughly how many visitors they're getting per certain page. Of course, it's only a rough estimate and you should also scan their on-page factors a little bit.

If your competition is using social buttons (fb, twitter), it could give you a hint which of his pages are visited most. Pages which are often visited tend to have a lot tweets and fb shares.
If it's a blog, you can also take a look at the amount of comments the pages have. The ones with much comments could be the most visited.
But sadly, this isn't really accurate.

Tough to do.

I always look at their title tags. That way I know what KWs they are going after...

Thanks guys. I checked out compete.com So expensive though.

I'm just interested in say, their top 20-40 most visited pages. Some of these sites are 6,000 pages long. So lots of pages. I know most of them are crap. But it'd be a long shot to guess which are their most visited pages.

Spy fu and semrush were not mentioned above, so you can try these tools to spy on.

I don't think there is any tool can help you out on this one, unless the administrator added plugins like "WP-PostViews Plus" on his website.
