Default Ranking question.

Just had a quick question about ranking in Google. I made a new webpage a few weeks ago, and I've been steadily adding new content and 10-15 backlinks per day consistently. I am #1 in Bing/Yahoo, but not even in the top 1000 on Google yet. The site is indexed in Google, however. is this pretty normal? Do I just need to keep building links and wait patiently? There is practically zero competition for this keyword, so I feel that I should be doing better in Google. Any insight is appreciated!

It is a good sign that you are number 1 in Yahoo, it means you are doing something right.

If I were to hazard a guess I would say it is just because your site is new and Google has not properly crawled your site and indexed your backlinks. In other words, even just waiting a little longer 1-2 weeks you should see decent rankings in Google.

Again, this is my guess by taking your word that the competition is easy. I have not seen your keywords or website.

Cheers,
Dave

Without seeing the exact site, keywords, links etc it's almost impossible to say but if the site is getting solid steady linking then it will eventually improve up the rankings.

Unless it is a very easy keyword, even if you reach number 1 then you may drop off if you simply leave it be. To see consistent results you must put in consistent work.

It's a bit weird you're so far off in Google, but like Dadamson said above, just be patient and wait a little while.

Sounds like you're doing well, so I would keep up the link building and content creation you've been doing.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Another quick question...I have another site that has been indexed by google and gets crawled every day, but in the SERPs it just has the domain, no title or description yet. Any ideas on how I can fix this? It's a Wordpress blog and privacy settings are set to allow search engines to crawl the page. No plugins are activated yet so I don't think there are any conflicts there.

I would install the plugin All in one SEO and use that to easily define a meta description and title tag for your homepage.

My description has disappeared in the past after making some changes - it came back in about a week.

Yahoo ranks newly created site and Google takes time. Just wait and keep building backlinks.

I think you should constraint what keywords you targeting and do so social bookmarking n Directory submission as well for your targeting keywords. Google is more conscious about content, page loading time, errors, so do it as per need.
